My family appreciates your sacrifice that makes it possible for others to get where they are going!

Especially the salt crew as we were leaving, the fire trucks that responded to a fire we saw on the side of the interstate, the restaurant workers, gas station attendants an the workers we hope to not use today: medical field.

And the rest of you that make living in a home with utilities possible.

Merry Christmas! 19 miles until Denny's!:cheer2:

I agree! I remember that it feels a little weird to be working when most others aren't.

I'll add convenience store workers, factory workers and police officers not to mention those in the armed forces that are away right now.

My husband is working right now as i type this, and thank you for the thank you. you are wlcome and merry christmas:santa:

my husband is working as i type this. thans for the thank you and have a merry christmas:santa:

My husband is working right now as well. He works at an oil refinery. It kinda sad without him but your thank you did make me feel better.

I was at the grocery store last week and noticed a sign that said they would be open from 8:00 - 5:00 on Christmas Day. I remarked to the cashier that it's too bad some people had to work. She said, "Are you kidding? We get double time and a half for working Christmas. That's like $70 an hour for me! I was the first one to volunteer!" For that kind of pay, I think I'd volunteer too!:lmao:

i have to agree with you, OP. thank you to everyone who worked or is working today, or has loved ones that are working or have worked today. my DH goes back to work tomorrow for 6 straight 12 hour shifts....not looking forward to it, especially when it's been snowing most of the day. this isn't such a big deal in most places, but in NE alabama, that's a pretty big problem!

you're welcome :)

Wasn't my choice to go in today, and I don't get holiday pay or a floating holiday, but I showed up and made the best of it. Some places just can't close!

my DH had to go into work today unexpectedly so thank you from me as well for the thank you! The worst thing I think for my DH...he left right after breakfast and has been gone all day but since it's Christmas, there are no restaurants open or stores to get food so he hasn't eaten all day :sad2:I feel so awful for him! I offered to drive some dinner down to him (an hour drive away) but he said not too:guilty:. Hopefully he'll be home in a couple hours.

I add my thanks as well. My son worked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will work the next two days as well (also worked Thanksgiving and will work New Years Eve and day - nobody gets NYE off). We sent ham rolls and LOTS of cookies to his substation for his squad. Thanks to all our emergency workers......here's hoping for quiet shifts.
