I have been a part of the forum for a little over a week and I have to send out a hugh thanks to everyone here. I recently left my job to attend school full time. In doing so we lost a hugh part of our income. But I was really unhappy at my job and I knew I needed to get my degree. So after talking it over we decided that it would be for the best and our sacrifice would be our big wedding and honeymoon.

After hours of crying I came to the realization that I needed to do this for our future. Then not to long ago I ran across this site. It made me long for Cindy's castle and the sweet horn of the wonder. After reading and asking what felt like a million question I found a deal with All Seas for a cat. 11 for 2 for the low price of $859. Yesterday I paid our deposit, set up a budget and we will be getting married when we want and having the honeymoon we want.

However I don't believe that I would have found such great deals without this site. I have never ran into such a wonderfully helpful group of people who understand the desire to return to the World. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much. You help has been priceless!

Congratulations! Enjoy every min. of planning and the rest of your lives together! I love the boards too!
God Bless!

ericamanda01, I am so glad that you are able to go on your honeymoon and have your wedding.

My fiance and I are getting married in January and we have been battleing the costs for a long time now. A 2nd class in the Navy and my paycheck are just about enough to break even each month on our bills, let alone pay for a big wedding. But Robbie and I sat down with my parrents and we worked out a saving plan. They arent really in a financial position to help us with our wedding (although they like to) so they are helping us cut our own costs and save for what is important to us. Robbie and I... Ok ok me! really considered just getting married in secret, not telling the family so Robbie could start getting married pay. In the end though, we figured that if we work hard enough we could do it on our own and truely get married in front of our families.

I just found the forum also a couple of weeks ago and I agree that the advice found here is invaluable. It also helps that everyone is sooooo nice!

It's so funny that you should mention that your fiance is in the Navy, partly because my fiance and met in the Navy. Although we were both enlisted he was my supervisor and I couldn't stand him. He made me do all the worst jobs. Now the running joke is that I am his boss and I make him do the worst jobs around the house. The litter box and take out the trash!!! Congradulation and by the way a friend of mine did sneak off and get married to start the married pay to help pay for the wedding. They didn't tell their family and now they have two anniversaries, one just for them and one for their family to celebrate. It is a bit of secret romance that they have just for themseleves! In my case we will be sending everyone a postcard from WDW saying "Wish you were here. By the way this is our honeymoon!" I can't wait!:Pinkbounc

Oh, I cant wait to tell this one to Robbie. I was sure that people did it, but no, he wanted to do the whole thing legit. I don't see a problem in starting off our marriage with a tiny white lie! LOL I see his point now, but still, having that extra money a month would be quite nice.

Since you guys were in the Navy I thought you might find it a little interesting to know that Robbie is stationed here at Great Lakes Naval Base and I work as a civilian on the base. That's how we met!

That's great! I'm so glad it's all working out. Congrats on the cruise, school and upcoming marriage!

My husband was in the Navy for 10 years. It is a VERY common occurance in the military for a couple to have a small civil ceremony at the court house and then have a big wedding later. This way the couple can get on the list for base housing or perhaps the non-working spouse can have access to the service members health insurance...there are monetary advantages to being married in the military (and a PO2 doesn't make too much)... if your ready to take the plunge now I see nothing wrong with the small civil ceremony now and bigger wedding later.
