OK, my parents are taking me to WDW for my birthday and I want to thank them. The only problem is my budget is very, very low, like less than $25. I want to have a surprise in the room, weather I do it, or someone else, that doesn't matter. How can I do it as a surprise and cheap? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

My idea won't work if you want to do it while there, I was thinking why not take many many pictures of them together or the three of you and then put one in a nice frame. Even Big Lots has some decent frames for cheap. Like $3

I was just thinking the print wouldn't be more than a few dollars as well for an 8X10

Whatever you decide on I am sure they will love it and already know you apprecitate it.

Have fun.

I don't have any ideas, but I wanted to post and say I think you're a TERRIFIC kid! Your parents are doing an awesome job, and you are doing one as well!:thumbsup2

You can ship a box to your resort and it will there at check-in. I know it's not the same as being a surprise in the room, but it's pretty close! You can find the box with good deals you find over the next couple months. Leave some money budgeted for shipping costs.

I would bring something along with me and keep it secret in your luggage. Then one day after you've left the room, suddenly remember that you "left" something in the room. (Or even leave something in your room to make it more plausible.) Run back to the room and put out your gift for them to find upon your return.:goodvibes You could even put up a few streamers, etc. to decorate the room as well as a big "Thank You" Sign (Or I LOVE YOU!)

I did this for one of DD's birthday's that we celebrated at WDW. We were at the pool and I "had to use the restroom". I hurried back to the room and put up decorations and put out her gifts. I even put Happy Birthday on the window with that paint you use on car windows. ( you could just make a banner). Then I went back to the pool. She was completely surprised when we got back to the room!:cloud9:

I'm sure if you did this your parents would be very appreciative!

How about a frame with a letter thanking your parents and telling them how special they are to you? You can add a picture of the three of you taken in Disney when you get home.

On restaurants.com they have very cheap gift certificates you can buy and print at home. One of the places is House of Blues at DTD, it is for $25 and you must spend $35. The gift card can be purchased for about $4-6 right now, depending on what promo code is going on then you can stick the certificate and some extra cash in a thank you card and leave it out for them. They can have a nice romantic dinner together.

I think you should just write them a letter and tell them how you feel about them and how much you appreciate their gift. It won't cost you a cent and since it is coming from your heart, they will love that more than anything else you could give them.

Happy birthday.

My idea is for after. Take lots of photos and make a photo album through one of the photo sites like Shutterfly. They are always offering free album deals where you only pay approx. $8 shipping. You can make this up and give it to them as a Thank you after the trip.

Hi yellowtink!
I'm the mom of a generous child and while I love her generosity, knowing that her budget is as tight as it is I'd rather she didn't buy us little surprises. We do nice things for our kids without expecting *stuff* but if you insist ;) on doing something for them to thank them for the gift of the trip get something they would have done anyway. The restaurant certificiate is a great idea and it's something that would have been used/purchased for the trip anyway.
Do you know what I mean? Make your thankyou gift a part of the trip so it isn't a *wasted* gift.
The photo idea is also a really good one. You could gift them the photo album (which you'd be buying anyway, right?) with a little card inside thanking them for the trip and stating that in addition to the empty album filling it with pictures from your trip will be your gift to them!
