Thank you Passporter's Field Guide...

Kanga, I have to know....Eastern or Western? What did you decide and why?

My DW is now reading the PassPorter, she is really enjoying it, in fact she just told me a little bit ago, "Reading this PassPorter is really getting me excited about this cruise." I don't know what took her so long, we made our ressies back in November after returning from VB. I've been excited about the cruise as soon as our ressie was confirmed!!!

I ended up ordering mine from amazon. I ordered it Wednesday and it was shipped today. They offered free shipping on purchases over $25, so I ordered WDW one, too... even though looking through it at Barnes and Noble, I could have written some of it!! ;)

I've already read my Passporter cover to cover! Can't believe the good info inside! Now dh has it sequestered in his "office" (you know the one with the throne) LOL :) Glad I got to it first!

I've been excited about the cruise as soon as our ressie was confirmed!!!

Me too!! As soon as Dreams sent that confirmation of deposit rec'd I was bouncing like tigger! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

(still waiting for Ann's plowman to bring us some snow. 80 degree weather in Colorado in March is just NOT right!)

Just a tip you all probably know, but if you go to the passporter web site your can register versions of Passporter you already own. http://www.passporter.com/dcl/guidebook.htm

This will give you a discount on the new version, and also a discount if you want to order items from their "store." I found it a good savings. Although most of the information can be found here, I love reading through the Passporter, and especially like the planning pages and pockets.

Woo hoo!!! Guess what came today???

Let me set the scene. We were coming back from lunch and I saw the mail lady go by. I told DH "cross your fingers that my passporter is here". It's raining and nothing was hanging from the mail box. DH got out to check the mail and I said "they're too big to fit in there, IS THERE SOMETHING BY THE GARAGE?" At this point, I think I might see something over there and he says "yes" and I said "yes?" and he said "yes" and I said "YES?" (LOL) and he said "YES"... so I drove up to the garage, threw it in park, got out and ripped open the bag. There was my box from Amazon. Talk about excited. Okay, I'm off to read it now!! :Pinkbounc

I just got my Passporter which I had ordered through Barnes and Noble. It has answered many of my questions and now I am more exited about my Western Magic cruise than ever. It explains everything from which nights are usually formal nights and which shows are when to shore excursions and laundry prices. I will certainly be packing it to bring with me.

I ordered the deluxe version of the Passporter through Borders/Amazon - and they said it takes 4-6 weeks to get it plus shipping time. So, I'm supposed to get it sometime in mid-April (probably when I've on vacation in Hawaii). Since my cruise isn't until October, its no big deal.

I would have ordered through Passporter.com, but while their website said the price was $33.96, when I attempted to order it, the checkout page had the price at $36.08 before shipping. Shipping on Borders was free and the book was priced at $27.97. After hearing all the good comments, I can't wait to get it!

Will someone please tell me what Passporter is? I assume a book, but when I looked at the Books A Million site, they have a number of different versions. I LOVED the unofficial WDW Guide. Is this similar? Are there different guides to choose from or is Passporter THE guide to have?

Thanks for enlightening me!

The passporter is actually The Passporter's Field Guide to Disney Cruiseline and Its Carribean Ports of Call. I rcvd mine the other day and read it straight through cover to cover in four hours. It is chock full of information about DCL and just about all related items.

You can find information at
http://www.passporter.com

or

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...002-7581132-1298431?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

the latter is the direct link to the book on amazon. I got mine in about a week with their regular shipping.

Right now it is the only guide book in print for Disney Cruise Line. It is not an "official" guidebook, like Birnbaum Guide for WDW, but it is a very good reference source.

Please note...the only problems people are finding with the book is that some of the room occupancy figures are wrong. Passporter has recognized this and will be fixed in future issues.

Thank you mmouse37 and winddancer for the information. FYI, Books-A-Million, www.bamm.com, sells the deluxe edition for $26.79 with free shipping on any order over $25.00. That is the member's price, members paying $5.00/year. I have found it well worth the $5.00, as BAMM is usually cheaper than Amazon.:D
