Love the tribute to Bob Varley!

I never got a chance to meet Bob, but he was such a great influence on my life.

Thanks for the memories.

Yes, thank you. I love hearing you all talk about Bob. :grouphug:

Agree. Thoughts are with you all and Bob's family at this difficult time of year

:goodvibes

What a great show. The story about Bob's mother and the Candlelight Processional brings tears every time I hear it.

I listened today as I was packing for WDW and the space shuttle launch. I still have the instructions Bob gave me on where to watch a launch and other instructions he gave me when I met him at the Dolphin Meet years ago. He was so excited to give me all the tips etc he had learned over the years.

He will have a great view of this launch. No need for him to go to the "far end of the parking lot".:)

I liked the "Keep Bob in your thoughts" at the end as opposed to the "Stay out of the damn lakes" :)
p.s. the story about Bob's folding paper notes website was hilarious!

Listening to the Bob show again, checking Facebook and I see Life Is Good's quote of the day is...

"No sense being a pessimist. It wouldn't work anyway."

Not as good as "They can't hit ya." but still very appropriately Bob.

Thank you for this show about Bob. It's wonderful to remember him....I never met him, but felt like I knew him. Now, I have to go back and listen again to the best of Bob show.....whenever I get to WDW...I get a Dole Whip and say here's to you Bob.

Thanks for the Bawb show. Its is amazing to realize that its been 3 years since his passing. Since that time Val & I've been fortunate enough to meet all the podcasters (except for the new guy Scott) and have some one-on-one time with all of them. But we will forever regret we didn't get a chance to meet Bawb in person.
:grouphug: to the crew and especially to Dian-er.

BTW, what accent?

I can never see Rix without thinking about Bob's review of it.

Mojito anyone. :)

Thanks BOB for the smiles

It's weird that this showed up when it did. I was just thinking the other day how much I enjoyed listening to the podcast when he was on it.

He was unique and enthusiastic and a lot of fun to listen to.

I second this wholeheartedly, Skippy!! It was an awesome show, and I very much appreciate it.

Bawb is greatly missed! How many of us felt like we knew him, that he was a huge part of our lives...just through the podcast! There was something about him that touched me deeply...I know that sounds silly because I only actually met him once, but I identified with him so strongly, and admired him so much, that on his passing, I was devastated. I don't really understand it, but Bawb touched my life in a way that I can't really explain.

We were fortunate enough to have been planning to attend what was to be a Podcast Party at Gaylord Palms, which became a Memorial to Bob. I feel so fortunate to have been able to attend, meet many of the Podcast Team, Bob's 'Dianer', and his son Brian.

During that trip, my DH who is not a listener, really understood my grief and actually played podcasts in our villa for me. Love him!

I also want to say "Thanks" for the recent Bob Show. We were lucky enough to meet Bob and spend some time speaking with him at that first Dolphin meet. Being from the Boston area myself, we spoke the same language so to speak (What accent?). He had many great tips for us, especially for the best restaurants to try. He truly loved WDW. We were looking forward to looking for him in the parks with his "Kaat" on our next visit when I read the sad news on the board three years ago about his untimely passing. We still enjoy the podcasts, but I have to say that we don't laugh as much as when Bob was in the them. Based on what you all have said about him, I am certain he's keeping things light in heaven now. We miss you, Bob!

I started listening to the podcast December 2009, but like many new listeners, went back to listen to the shows from the beginning or at least the podcast as we know it today with the whole gang. Even though I knew what was eventually coming, I was still struck with a real sense of grief when the show that announced Bob's passing played. :sad1: It was so easy to start to love this wonderful man and his very unique ways. What a shame that he left us so soon, but what a blessing that he was able to touch us all, if just for that short time. I could use a mo-jee-toe now.

DW posting here . Just by coincidence, I started listening to the podcast just when Bob passed, so one of the first episodes I heard was the original "Bob show." At the end, they played "For Good" from the Wicked soundtrack, which gets me every time. Well, when I was listening to this third anniversary "Bob show" on my iPod during my walk today, I switched it to shuffle right when it ended. Guess what song came up? I smiled :) and got a little teary. Wish I could've met you Bob.
