Thank you everyone for your opinions on the microwave thread. Didn't mean for it to get out of hand! Actually had no idea it would be such a charged subject as it seems very trivial to me. But I did want a chance to respond to the many questions on what I would cook in it.
Weight watchers meals (for me
)
Hot pockets
Popcorn
Hot water for instant oatmeal
Speghetti O's and the like
Hot dogs (my kids LOVE them...I don't..yuck)
This list could go on and on as there are a ton of things that you can cook or heat up in a microwave.
We'll have a couple coolers to keep parishables cold. We've done this before with coolers when staying for 4 days at a hotel and just replenished with ice when needed. We also plan on making a thorough grocery list to make sure we have all we need for the week.
Sure we could rack up the credit card bill with eating out every night but honestly I would much rather save that money and put in our "Vacation fund" towards next years trip

As far as getting a microwave on a plane, this one is probably the SMALLEST I've ever seen and it fits great into the luggage. With enough room to pad it well. If it broke it broke...not going to worry about that. I received it free so no loss and we'd go to plan B if that happened.
