Just thought I'd add a quick post to thank everyone for keeping us in mind and offering best wishes for Phil etc :grouphug:

He's still in the hospital but, after three months of seeming 'in limbo', we now appear to be moving on with a 'plan' :thumbsup2

He's still immobile, can't speak, has a PEG feeding tube and seems, pretty much, unaware of things going on around him, but is next in line for a bed on a re-habilitation unit at another hospital.
It's difficult to know how much re-habilitation will be possible but it'll be, mostly, up to him once he gets there ;)

It'll all come as a mighty shock to him as he'll be pushed to the limits - at the moment he's refusing to co-operate with the ward staff so they leave him alone as they're so busy and short staffed

It will be impossible for him to return home so we'll also be looking at funding for care homes etc once we know what he's capable of :)

Onwards.................................:thumbsup2

You are so strong and so brave :grouphug: I hope Phil can start the rehab soon and good luck with that :wizard:

you are very brave Alison, you have been through so much, but still always cheerful on the boards xx

I don't really know your story, but i do wish you all the best and hope that the re-hab that your hubby needs will come around soon.Take care  .x.

Thankyou for updating us, it sounds very encouraging and you being such a positive person must help your DH enormously :goodvibes

 thinking of you

I don't know your Story, but best of luck and your news sounded positive - which is good :flower3:

DH (40) was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour when he was 24 :scared:

This is his 5th, and final chance, op.

He lost his left eye, and most of the left side of his facial bone structure, during his last op 4 years ago :confused3

The consultant wouldn't operate, again, until there was no choice so the prognosis was , always, pretty poor :sad2:

DD (9) has always known that he's ill so, to her, he's been like a little brother, rather than a 'traditional' 'daddy'.

Luckily I have a very good 'work head' (I'm a qualified oncology nurse) - although that doesn't mean I don't, occasionally, take myself off in a corner and groan........

sending you some
and hope the rehab works out good for you all :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
Thanks for posting :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:
