I posted here a bunch right before our trip in August. We booked 2 nights at RPR and were really looking forward to the Universal part of our annual trek to Florida. So, thank you all for all your tips and tricks:goodvibes

Unfortunately I wound up severely sick and in the ER (but that is a whole other story). ANyway my DH and DS mustered on and checked into the RPR on Sunday August 16th.

According to my DH the staff were fabulous. 1st the reservation was in my name (I was staying with family at this point) and we were concerned they would give them a hard time checking in...NOT AT ALL! DH explained the situation to the girl checking them. Their room was not available (Standard 2 Queen Beds) so she upgraded them to a King Room with an awesome view:woohoo:

After they checked in they got their park tickets (part of the package we got) and headed over to Universal Studios. They stopped at Guest Services to ask about the free SUper Bowl TIcket (That was also in my name). Again DH explained the situation and even though I wasn't there to show ID they cashed in the ticket for him. It is a NO EXPIRATION ticket so I have it put away for the next time we go. Our next trip is not scheduled until 2013 (See ticket below) but I will keep the in a safe place until then.

On a down note, HRRR opened the day after DH and DS checked out and flew home:headache:
 
i am so sorry to read you became ill and you missed out on the trip.
i hope at this point you are feeling better.

it is always very scary to get sick and in the hospital on a vacation and far from home.


thank you for posting that the rest of the family enjoyed universal's hospitality.
that is fantastic they received an added touch of mummy dust at rph.

what a delight it must have been for them.
free upgrade, free pass, and the help from the TM's.
 
How awful for you and for your family for you to get so sick.

But what wonderful service they received, even getting the room upgrade was a lovely touch.

Glad they had a nice time and hope you`re all recovered :flower3:

I can't wait until we go back (unfortunately not until 2013), so I can experience all myself!
