I'm so sorry it took so long to show these pics and say thank you. My dd had a great bday party. The girls made these bags and are thrilled with them. Each one is different, but for some reason, this is the only pic that came out. Like I said, each one is different because the girls got to decorate their own.

Thanks again!!!

They were a hit!!

How very cool! How did they make them? Did they put on all the fabric and with what - glue? Ultra Bond? Or did they actually sew it all. Is the design on a transfer or did you print it to fabric? They look incredible.

Can I post these pictures on my webpage?

They really did turn out nice. It was an involved project though; but since it was a sleepover, we had plenty of time.

I printed the designs on to fabric sheets because I didn't like the way the fabric showed through when I did a simple transfer. I also used the Ultra Bond and put it on some larger pieces of scrap fabric. They used that for the larger pieces, but it was all sewn down with a simple straight stitch. It will fray, but I think it'll look great that way. Some of the girls sewed it themselves with adult supervision, of course), and some didn't want to or didn't feel comfortable. In that instance, one of the adults would do that for them. It was a lot of fun though, and all the girls are still using the bags.

And yes, please feel free to post these to you site. I wish I had pics of the others. I'll have to see if I can retrieve them, but me and technology don't always get along.

Thanks again,

The bag is AWESOME!!! Did you buy the tote bag and did it come with the cool colored straps??? If so, where did you get them?

What a great project - they look amazing!

Actually, we made them. I found some inexpensive white denim, and cut them into rectangles, notched out the tops and sewed the top over to make a casing. After they were decorated, we just sewed a back on it and voila. The straps are actually ribbon from the fabric store and Wal-Mart. I bought tons of ribbon and will return quite a bit of it. I just wanted to have a nice selection to choose from. We put the buttonhole on the bottom corners to thread the ribbon through and tied it off. It really was easy. I wouldn't have done this if I didn't have the girls all night though. However, I'm sure making them up ahead of time and using some strong fabric glue would work, too. I really wanted the frayed edges though.

Thanks for the compliment.
