You are going to have such a great, great time! DH and I thought AKL was incredibly romantic - in fact, it's my favorite resort. Be sure to try a Victoria Falls Mist at either the pool bar or Victoria Falls lounge.

Yes, we have APs. AP rates are usually very good if you can get them.
Our last trip, we stayed at Pop Century for $49 + tax a night during the first week of Dec.

I think if you go for more than 10 days a year, APs are worth it for park admission alone. You also get hotel discounts sometimes, and some food/shopping discounts. And you get to tell people you know that you have an annual pass to Disneyworld.
