Thank goodness my John-Cole and Hunter at least have some common sense...

We have a small area of woods behind our house.....and there is a trail that goes through the woods to another street. Anyway the kids from both neighborhoods like to play back there but since there are only a few kids its pretty much only them. Anyway they just came running through the gate.....I said "What are yall running from??" John-Cole yells "Its a SKUNK mama!"

So thank the good lord they had enough sense to run AWAY from the skunk instead of try to follow it!

Oh boy did they get lucky. Or I guess I should say you got lucky!
I go jogging early in the morning and that is my worst fear, getting sprayed. Ive had a few run ins with some skunks, but so far Ive been lucky. Its tough when you are out there in the dark.

Oh I know what you mean! It was dark and I'm nearly blind to boot! I was walking to the front of my apartment complex to check my mail. There was a street light by the mailboxes. Luckily, I stuck to the sidewalk, instead of cutting across the grass area. The skunk was in that area. I noticed him after I checked my box. He was 25 feet away and the tail was up and ready. I just kept walking....and hoping. My heart was pounding in my ears, by the time I reached my apartment.
