TH ADR after park closing

Hi all! We have only ever done TH breakfast and now have a dinner booked for our upcoming trip. My 2 questions are:

1) Does dinner have characters? I know it used to only be at breakfast and lunch.

2) My ADR is for 6:35pm, and the park closes that day at 5. How does this work? Do we just walk around an empty park for 1.5 hours?

1. Dinner has characters.

2. Closing won't be 5PM. It will be updated.

Yeah, at no time can you book an ADR in a park that has been closed for 90 min. They'll let you book AT closing but not after. If they did decide not to change park hours Disney would inform you that your ADR would be changed or cancelled. But that won't happen. The hours will change as pointed out.

Dinner has the same characters as breakfast and lunch. I don't think they have finalized the hours for AK yet. It should be open later than 6:35 with the new ROL show.

2) Except, Tusker does take ADR's up to 1/2-hour after the early park closing (5:00p or 5:30p closings).
3) Of course, the park is now staying open late, and Tusker has ADR's until 9:00p on those days.

NOTE: With the low attendance of late-hour Jungle Book and Nighttime Safari, the rumor is that the AK 11:00 closing is being move back to 9:00p until RoL is "ready for Prime Time". The reviews for both Safari and Jungle are pretty mediocre (I agree with this assessment), and the public is listening.

1) Don't know.
2) They will have to do something.
3) Of course, it could be like the failed RoL, where managers called the ADR's and had them switch dates/times.
4) That would be my only guess if they altered the closing time(s).

NOTE: Yes, the calls from managers regarding the failed RoL ADR's and FP's met with complaints, but WDW simply said, "There is no option." and people had to either select different times/dates or not get in.

1) It was available, then quickly shut down when RoL was determined as "not ready".
2) There were several complaints that guests could not attend and had to reschedule their ADR's.
