TGM vs. Touringplans

While looking over the various best park days on both sites I came across something interesting
On July 2 TGM rates MK a green day and Touringplans says it is a day to avoid.
Both are supossedly based on the best info available, one personal experience and the other "scientific formulation"
Who is right and why?
How can there be such a contradiction?
I'm sure that there are many other days like this but this is just an example
I decided to stick with TGM and take consolation in the fact that Touringplans will be sending people away from MK
Hope I'm right

My opinion is that the majority of people who visit WDW don't do the research and planning that we DISers do. That's why Touringplans' strategy of visiting a park the day after its EMH has always worked for us. The average Joe checks into his Disney hotel, sees he gets to stay an extra 3 hours after park closing, and plans his parks accordingly.

Please recall that sharing TGM information (including 'Best Days') is in violation of the terms of service/user agreement that you 'signed' when you joined with him.

There's a contradiction because they use different systems to arrive at their recomendations, you said that yourself. ;)

But who is right and wrong? You're dealing with an estimation of crowd level, right and wrong isn't exactly in the fold. (Plus, if you read TGM's reasoning, he is saying that there's a good chance "they" will show up heavy in the afternoon.) The overall attendance at the resort is going to be a much bigger factor than which park, you're looking at 8s and 9s for crowd levels that week.

It appears that the folks at touringplans just warn you off of the MK every Sunday, and July 2nd is no different. In that sense, TGM has probably put a little more thought into it, but I still can't see right or wrong in either estimation...they're estimations. :)

If you cross up each recommendation and take what they each think is OK, then off to MGM! :thumbsup2

hello, i was wondering where i could go to find out what is the best and worst days to go to what parks. 104 days left!!!!!
