It's a renaissance faire where people celebrate and recreate the middle ages. We dress in costumes, have authentic food, watch jousts and have a ton of fun. I'm on the planning commitee, in the education department. Our faire is a bit different from most of the others since it is part of a cultural exchange between the city of Fishers, IN and Billericay England. It's a lot of work but it's so much fun to see everything come together in the end.
Do you guys travel? There is a King Richard's Faire that we attend annually but it is only here for a few weeks in the fall. It is a lot of fun.
We have never worked at one. We are just day guests. It must be a lot of fun. My DD is into acting and would love to do it but the one near us is an hour away so until she gets her drivers liscence it isnt going to happen. We generally only do day trips. We have pets that need to be taken care of and it's hard finding someone willing to petsit the number of animals we have. I'd love to do more traveling but it gets costly and I can't take off Fri and Mon too much or my boss gets really mad.
