TFW Meet 2008 The Mission: Wiener Salad & Margaritas - Trip Report Links on Page 1

Hey V...any idea round about when the Florida resident rates for the end of August come out? When they come out is there a code or something like that? L agreed to book the room for me but neither of us knows anything about this! If she books a room at rack rate because the rates aren't out, will there be an issue once they do come out?? Thanks in advance!

Last year, the late Aug. AP rates came out 6/20 (according to Mousesavers), and the FL rates are usually out a day or so after that. There is usually a 3-digit code, but all you need to ask for is FL Resident Rates. The code just seems to confuse them. ;) Even better, I like to book online... at the top of the WDW site is a little spot to click for FL residents. Once a FL zip code's been entered, you'll see a variety of options, one of which is "Special Offers" and sometimes a secondary "Great Room Rates."

There isn't an issue per se with booking at rack rate now. You'll jsut have to cancel that ressie when a new, discounted rate is made; they can't just apply the new rate to an existing ressie. Keep in mind that your choices of resort and/or view may be somewhat limited with the discount.

Also, to ease some pressure, I've been able to book FL or AP rates as close as the night before a stay, so if you can be flexible about where you stay, no need to rush. :thumbsup2

COngrats to those reaching the 3 month mark, I can celebrate on Wednesday.

thanks so much!!!!!!

I decided to book myself a room at POP for insurance. L says she has no issues booking the room but I am way to paranoid I won't get anything I want if I wait so I booked. Crazy I know, but I couldn't stop myself. Canceling is easy at least. And the month will go by quickly...I hope. I ahve a plane ticket so I need to stay somewhere!

We did. We did the color gaurds for the home football games. We also fired off our howitzer when a touchdown was scored.

We also ushered at the commissioning ceremonies and other special events around campus.

We did several meets during my tenure. We did Nationals at Purdue one year, but the rest were region 1 meets (Akron, Kent State)

It's so nice to talk to anothe alum...not too many people have heard of the P/R's!:goodvibes

Since I am female;) I will say having females in your unit is a good thing:lmao:

Great.... good to know cause I dont really remember having time to talk with the other schools while on drill meets ... all this was about 25 years ago for me and somewhat fuzzy... We had a sister group called the Rebelettes for the girls drill team ... Im not sure if there still going strong at our campus.

Here is a Dole Whip to all the Disers. lol

Since we are now BELOW the 3 month mark (by one day but who'se counting:rolleyes: ) I have started some real trip planning. I have created the list of this I will be purchasing to have shipped down to my mother's house so it will conveniently be there for us when we arrive, yet won't take up space in my suitcase:banana: Things such as shampoo, soap, clorox wipes, toothpaste, HUggies Bath Mitts (use and toss:thumbsup2 ) for Jimmy, Sunscreen, glow sticks, etc. Not only does this save space in our luggage, I also don't have to worry about TSA requirements:woohoo:

In addition to this I have also created the list for my garden grocer order...water, milk, paper cups (ewwww-NEVER USE THE CUPS PROVIDED BY THE HOTEL:sick: ), breakfast snacks, etc.

I do have a question for Garden grocer users...how far in advance of our arrival day should I place the order:confused:

My mother already has our mugs from last year (yes I am using them again - Report me:rolleyes1 ) as well as other necessary items:thumbsup2

Let the PLANNING AND PACKING BEGIN:banana:

I ordered my stuff about 3 weeks before, only because I was noticing that they had a lot of days last August showing they were "booked" and I didn't want to chance it, KWIM?

I too have started my GG list, just waiting to see what Kelly wants for breakfast/beverages.

I like to submit about a month in advance. Though I am not getting GG until we check into BCV and since that is the first day of free dining, I think I will submit as soon as I tell Kelly in a couple of weeks. (first 3 days we are staying concierge so why bother with GG and then have to move it)

They are Jo. I was checking it out this morning and I was surprised that the prices were just about the same as what I pay here in PA, maybe a penny or 2 in either direction. I think for the $12.00 delivery it is going to be worth it for us!:thumbsup2

Hey Guys! It's getting closer and closer.....check my tickers! :cool1:
