Texting from the US to Canada

i always get the rogers buckt plan that give me voice text and data for 1 month in the us the price verys from 25-70

I am with Bell and I always purchase a USA texting plan where they only cost 25 cents for each text message I send, instead of 75 cents or whatever the roaming cost is without a US texting plan.

We had Koodo too- it was great for that- my daughter sent/received literally thousands of texts while in Florida on more than one occasion- no extra fees.

I just switched my daughters phone to Koodo and I just phoned them to confirm pricing when texting from the US to Canada and it is no longer part of the plan. They told me it used to be included but now it costs $.60 cents a text for both receiving and sending. Blackberry will be turned off.

None of the Canadian providers include text from the US to Canada.

Best bet is to get an AT&T SIM Card, their Unlimited US Text package (for prepaid) also includes texts to Canada (it doesn't state this on their website, but I can confirm from personal experience that it does)

I am with Telus and have a package that includes unlimited North American texting ... I can text from Canada to the US, US to US, US to Canada, and to my husband who is with me in the US who has a Canadian number - all at no additional cost. We travel down to Florida twice a year, plus a couple other US trips for conventions and have never been charged extra.

Telus also offers these plans ... one of the options is "unlimited outgoing and incoming text, picture and video messages" ... again it indicates this is for Canada and the US ("An additional 20¢ charge will apply for each text message or attachment sent outside of Canada and the US")
