I have a promo code for textbook rental from Chegg.com

CC133064

It is good for 5% off your purchase. I am trying them out for the first time this semester. One of the books I needed was $144 to buy at the bookstore. I am renting it from Chegg for $54. :thumbsup2

I suggest you really stay on top of Chegg if your book seems late in being delivered.

Last year my daughter opted to give them a try by renting an expensive book she needed for her drawing class. The order went through fine, and we waited and waited for a shipping confirmation. When two weeks had passed with no word...not even an "out of stock" or "delayed" note next to the order (just said "processing") I called to find out what the problem was.

Turns out they had no more available and weren't getting any more. No explanation offered as to why no notification was given.

That single experience turned my daughter off from Chegg for good. She said it wasn't worth the stress.

There is a UPS tracking link on the order site. Mine was ordered yesterday- due to be delivered tomorrow.

I just ordered a textbook from Chegg on Saturday morning, and it arrived in the mail today (Tues). I also sold a book to Chegg (but purchased it elsewhere) and received the check within a few days - Cheggs buys back books too.

The book my son needed was $183 new (no used copies were available in the college bookstore); so we rented it for $55 through Chegg.
I used the iphone app (GetTextbooks) while in the college bookstore to see what the prices were elsewhere.

I have used Chegg for almost all of my books in the past year. I used the code CAMPB9 and saved 9% the other day.

I used Chegg once, for a short term class. However, I have found that for all of my textbooks besides that one, buying from textbooks.com is cheaper in the long run. Although it is more expensive upfront, with the guaranteed buyback price I've found they end up being $15 -- $30 cheaper, vs. Chegg.

I'm sorry for the poster that had a bad experience w/chegg. This is my 3rd semester using them & I love them! I ordered a book yesterday & got the shipping email this morning. Class starts next Wed so I was taking a risk.

I also like textbooks.com & half, all of my books come from one of these 3 sites. The buyback is a nice feature & available through amazon too. At least w/Amazon, they offer a little more back if you get it in an Amazon credit.

Check out Valorebooks.com too. I used to use them in college, especially to sell back my books. They pay for shipping. They also just started rentals to compete with Chegg.
