Just received a text message from JPMorganChase.com to call said number. I called to see what it was about and asked for my account number. Of course, it would have been crazy of me to enter it. I called again and it asked me to leave a message.

I was called once many years ago for activity on my card as well as my son recently but they called the house number. I thought this text on my cell was unusual. I called Chase Visa to see if anyone was calling me and of course was told it is a scam.

Just a heads up.

I googled the number and there are many people saying they have received the same text and it is a scam. :sad2:

Oh scary! Thanks for the heads up! But like you, I would NEVER enter in my CC number.

Way to look out for all of us!

abuse@chase,com

whenever you receive ANY call you are questionable about, just throw it in a google search and you will likely find a slew of other people with similar experiences from the same number..........scary.........you can also * (star) 57 which tracks the call and it can later be traced by Police. They WILL do that if you notify them of three (3) annoyance calls...

;)

How wierd! I got a similar text earlier today, also from Chase. I didn't call it, just deleted it- I barely read it>...

818 is a Los Angeles area code.

I would think if there truly is something wrong with one's account, they'd give an 800 customer service number.

One time I got a call from my bank's security office saying to call them. They do this a LOT when they think I have unusual charges. :headache: So I was used to it - pain in the butt that it is. This time, instead of doing the usual, which is to call directly the number from the back of my card. I called the number they left. They asked strange security questions. :eek:So I told them I was hanging up & calling the number on the back of the card. They said they were fine with that.

I did call the regular number and they confirmed to me that I had a notation on my account that I had just called and hung up out of concern. So, at least, that time, they verified the number I had called was a legit call. And yes, their security questions have gotten increasingly weirder. :confused3

Every phone in my home has been getting hit up from 'financial services' companies. They come off all threatening which could be very intimidating to people in trouble I guess. They offer no info and just announce a number and demand that I call back but it's kind of hard to take them seriously when they call my 11 & 12 year old kids though:lmao:

My house # is on some companies hit list trying to get info on our name ect. We're unlisted so they call & call and try to get me to say our name ect., as if. Every time they call I answer saying, "I'm still not telling you. Have a good one anyway." and hang up.

It seems as people get more desperate the cons are getting more common :sad2:

This is clearly a scam, since I got the txt and Chase doesn't even have my cellphone number!
