Texas Sheet Cake recipe

Okay, I made this one over the weekend and I'm kind of disappointed. I just didn't think it was that great and I love chocolate cake. I double checked and I made it correctly, it just wasn't that good.

Did you add a whole cup of sour cream? This cake is always moist and the frosting is like fudge . What part disappointed you?

It's CRAZY good! Our version has a bit of cinnamon in it, and uses buttermilk (I use Saco buttermilk powder) instead of sour cream. I will post the recipe when I find it. We also do a peanut butter version and it's also very yummy!

I use the buttermilk and cinnamon, too! It is our family's very favorite!

Does anyone have a tried and true, to die for Texas sheet cake recipe? I'm going to a family reunion picnic this weekend and need a share dish.

I have and didn't care for it. My cake was dry and the icing never thickened up. This is one I won't try again.
