Teva, Keen or what else?

I like my Teva Tirras a lot, but I prefer my Chacos.

Chacos for the win.

I just had a strap break on mine after over a decade of faithful service. I'm sending them off to get re-strapped this week. There is no finer sandal available.

And this is why I said you needed to find what worked for you - like the PP, I have a sister who lives in Chacos. My mom and I can't even walk down the shoe aisle in them. They literally made my feet hurt when I tried them on.

So get to a place with a good selection of stuff and see what works for your foot.

I usually wear Crocs Patricia wedge sandals to WDW and they are so comfortable.

My kids have Keen Newport H2 sandals this summer and they were great for our trip to the Outer Banks last week. I plan on buying a pair for me to try.

If you need a high arch support, try Chaco or Orthaheel.

The key is to try on a lot of shoes to find what works for you.

We all have Keen Newports (DH and I and our girls) and we LOVE them!!! The only unfortunate thing is that they are pricey for sandals and our girls outgrow them, so they are on their 3rd pair, but we wouldn't do Disney without them. :goodvibes

I love my keen whispers for comfort and quick dry, however they blister me something terrible when in disney world. Don't know why, wear them here with no problem. I've been looking at maybe getting a different style with less straps, as the straps right in the arch are what blister me the worst.

I saw another post talking about Skechers Go Walks being great at Disney. I am trying to figure out which to get us before our Sept Trip... I think I am between those Skechers and the Keens, but would love to hear input from people who have tried out both!

Although I don't have keens I can't say enough good things about the Skechers. I have the mary jane style both gray and black. I brought these for our December trip and wore them the whole week with no problems whatsoever. I'm usually changing shoes once every day and my feet are killing me by the end of each day. I've also washed my go walks and had no problems. My feet are so happy I can't believe it.

I ended up ordering chacos off amazon and got them today. They are not going to work. I got them in a size 9 (I can wear anywhere from an 8-9 depending on brand) and these fit weird. I had too much space in the heel but my front toes were where they should be. Plus the left shoe fit way different than the right one. Maybe I got a defective pair but they're going back :( We have a sketchers store so I'm going to try the go walks.

I live in my teva hurricanes. So comfy, no blisters, tired feet etc.. I wear them everywhere!! I also do the SGK 3-Day (60 mile walk in 3 days) and wear them for that. My toes love it!!

Try them on and see what fits and feels the best. I liked the Teva soles for bottom of the foot comfort but the top straps felt like they would rub and irritate over the course of a week at the parks.

I didn't care for the Chico strap system either.

I bought the Keen Clearwater CNX shoes and they are very comfortable. They slip on easy and don't rub or irritate on long walks. I will have some funny tan lines after the end of our August trip, but that's fine with me. I also like them because nothing goes between my toes, which annoys me to no end.

It's all about personal preference. Try them on and get the right fit, because everyone sizes a little differently and sizes vary even within the same company. Get both of your feet measured and try the shoes on both feet. Most people have different sized feet so it's important not to get the size that is too small for one foot. :)

Good luck!

I also like my Keen Whispers. Money saving tip... if you have smaller feet, buy a kid's size. You just go down 2 sizes from your women's size. So for me, I go from 6.5 to 4.5 in kids. I got mine on Amazon for $37- what a steal!

That's what I did. I got DD Keens and I adored them then read where you could get youth sizes and they were about 1.5-2 sizes different. I ordered a Youth 5, I think. I wanted open toed Keens, which they don't have a lot for adults. I got the ZUMA. They are awesome. For adults, Newports are the closest to them. http://www.amazon.com/KEEN-Sandal-Toddler-Little-Loganberry/dp/B003611NL0/ref=sr_1_35?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1371231097&sr=1-35

Tevas hit me in the ankle wrong. Keens run larger to me & Merrell's a bit smaller, but they fit my arch well.

If you need a high arch support, try Chaco or Orthaheel. The key is to try on a lot of shoes to find what works for you.
These are good, but definitely need tried on.

Off topic, but for flip flops...it's only Yellowbox for me. Oh, so comfy.
