Your pictures are gorgeous! We would love to hear more about your gardens, we're nosy that way, nice nosy!!

Groosch!! The season never really ends here on the farm.....but certainly our 'big' season is may-september.....my focus is on the veggies.....Mrs.G ders 99% of the flowers
(thou I dew the sunflowers and the red poppies).

This is what we grew this year...
(I kant promise this is a complete list...I'll proably ferget sump'in)

Cherry Tomatos
Italian Flat beans
Tenderpick bush beans
Haricot Verts (a french bean)
Asparagus
Bell peppers
swiss chard (4 colors)
Jalopenos
Tai peppers
Sunflower seeds
French breakfast radishes
leeks
Eschalots (shallot)

We also have plots of high bush blueberries (which did very well this year)

Blackberries (were quite good...thou needed more water than I waz will'in to give'em

Pears

Apples

Of possible interest....as part of our irrigation practice...all rainwater is collected from the farm building's roofs, stored and gravity feed into drip piping when needed. Also, we 're completely organic we can some and freeze alot :)

Goofyposter love all the veggies you plant. I'm a veggie person we eat out of the garden all summer.

Would like to know a little about the French Breakfast Radishes I've never heard of them.

Love leeks, I planted them one year, don't know why I've never planted them again.

Sounds like a large, well organized operation Goofyposter. :) Thank you for giving us a peek at the pecks of veggies that you harvest. ;) :)

I've always enjoyed Swiss Chard, along with Spinach and Beet Greens.

DH's parents go out east to Nova Scotia every summer and work for a few days at a commercial Blueberry farm owned by friends of theirs. They get paid....in blueberries! We're always very appreciative of the delicious pies we receive from them, especially in the middle of winter! :)

BTW - you grow beautiful Sunflowers! :)

French Breakfast Radish

radishfrenchbreakfast.jpg

French Breakfast has endured in gardens for over 100 years because of its wonderful, delicate flavor. This spring radish grows best during the cool periods of spring and fall, but will also withstand early summer heat. Looks incredible on a vegetable platter, and the flower pods are edible. Will grow in part shade. One packet plants a 12-foot row.

Days to Maturity: 24
When to Sow Outside: As soon as soil temperatures are above 40 degrees.
When to Sow Inside: Sow directly outdoors.
Seed Depth: 1/2"
Seed Spacing: 1/2"
Row Spacing: 8" - best to plant here and there rather than in rows.
Days to Emerge: 5-10
Thinning: Thin to 1" apart.
...thar very mild....great ter eat right out of the ground! :)
