Hi again you Fort Wilderness campers you!

Are you sick of me yet? I know since I showed up and I just talk, talk, talk!

I love this forum. Way better than the others on here. Slow forum, but I still love it!

I'm counting down my days until the fort and I'm just lurking and reading all I can to prepare myself for our next trip. But I think I will slow it down on the other side, they are negative nellies and then they make me feel that way :( Not all, just some.

I also need to stop being a cheerleader for the FW over there cause then more will show up at the FW and I like it peaceful when I'm there but at the same time, I like to help :)

Ok so my point of my post....

I haven't used my flicker account in ages and well I wanted to test a picture. My pics at the Fort are all iphone and then direct to print. So this is what I have on my computer and it is Disney like and I like it cause it is my offspring and I like her and well I like her little crabby face here. She made that wrinkled nose face for about an hour after they did that crazy up-do on her head. Yes I could post one of her smiling all cute like but that would be boring now wouldn't it???

Dear Disney I beg you to come up with some new hairstyles...

Anyway, testing, testing my photo posting ability on this forum.

Well I'm lost. I posted it to flicker and then grabbed the url tiny link and while the link shows up in the post, the photo does not...

I'm subbing! I've been trying to figure out how to post a pic too!

When I click the link, I see a cute little princess! :)

Are there different ways to "share/link"? I have to use the img code from Photobucket.

In Flickr when you have your picture pulled up, on the lower right side are 3 symbols. The middle one is a "swoosh arrow" pointed to the right. That's the SHARE link. Click it.

Under the word CODE in the popup box, click the BBCODE word.

Choose a picture size in the first drop down box. This is "Medium 640 x 427" above.

Then highlight and copy the link in the second box. Paste that box JUST THE WAY IT IS in your DIS reply. (Flickr embeds some info about your account so you can edit that out if you wish). You will see that there is more code around the link that you saw in Flickr. Just paste everything.

Like Denise I use photobucket which is also quite easy. It has an Android app I use to upload photos to my photobucket album as I take them on my smartphone so they are ready when I go to post in my trip reports.

If you follow these steps, mm, Flickr shares just fine. Although now you know people will expect lots of pix from your trip. popcorn::

PS - this forum is nice and relaxed like camper people themselves. I kinda feel sorry for folks on other forums although I do see some good frequent posters who try to help answer questions without the attitude.

For those that want to use photobucket:

sign up, log in, create an album (I make one for each Fort trip). Upload your pix through any of the many available methods (upload, bulk upload, drag-n-drop, android app, etc).

Click a picture in your album to open it up. On the right are 4 different "Share" links. One is IMG - put your cursor over the link in that box and click. The word "copied" will briefly appear then the link will reappear.

Paste that link as-is into your DIS reply box. Like Flickr, there is more code than just a simple web address. Just paste everything. Size is controlled in photobucket.

I'm adding this to the thread so that when the question comes up in the future, we can just link mm's thread. So if anyone thinks either set of instructions for Flicker or Photobucket are incomplete or confusing, say so and I will edit.

We can always use more pictures! :surfweb:

Like Ed and Denise I use Photobucket. I have the app on my Android and the first 2 days of my trip I could literally maintain a live update as long as I was getting wifi. The app is even easier than the website. I had never thought about an app until Ed mentioned using it on his last trip.

Like Ed said, now we are gonna want some pics. Our rule however is that you vacation first, post pics and update only when you can. :thumbsup2

I think by "slow" she means that there aren't 20 negative posts per second like you see on some of the other forums.

Hey Hey! Thanks Bama Ed :) Thanks for taking the time :)

Last night I was trying to use the HTML CODE and also trying the direct link and no go. Then, I was also trying to use the web link insert & add a pic icon on top of that.

So thanks, I grabbed the BBCODE and just pasted in, woohoo! Skipping the above icons for pic shares.

Of course I will share pictures of my trip. I spent hours going through all the pictures and posts on this forum and gained lots of useful information from you all so I'm happy to return some shares.

Probably not as extended as other trip reports. I have been reading some that are like 40 posts long inside of their intro post on top of catchy titles. WOW! Ummmm.....I'm not that awesome.

I will however take extra of Fort Wilderness as I have a few just fort days planned :)!

MM, the icons on top of a DIS reply for posting pictures DO work but sites such as Flickr and Photobucket try to take the guess-work out with the extra code they imbed in their copy-paste links.

Yeah, I know there is a Trip Report forum and you need a catchy title over there to get looked at. We campers (and I will take tiggerdad's and snowmedic's recent TRs as examples) like to see pix of the Fort, different campers, their set-ups, and hear about how we campers and cabin folks are enjoying the Fort. We've seen pix of the parks/hotels and while those are nice, folks here want to see the Fort mostly and that's what these two recent TRs did. The resort folks aren't as interested in the Fort as we are so that's why I think IMO we Camping Forum camper/cabin folks post our TRs on this forum. It's been that way for years and years.

OK I've cooked my turkey this morning, squeezed in a 6-mile run, now I get to clean up and go camping over Thanksgiving in the Aliner. WooHoo! :woohoo:

What are you trying to say here Ed?

You mean you don't want me to post 1400 pictures of the parks and every single meal we eat?? And exactly how long it look me to get through bag check? Or what they confiscated during bag check?

You don't care to know the color of my toothbrush that I'm bringing with me? Even if it's a Disney toothbrush??

You don't want to know the exact minute I awake each day and all my magical wishes and plans per each day?

Come on! You know you want to know each and every color of our magic bands and how we plan to decorate them!!!

Or maybe.....you are interested in the time I had a tiny little itty bitty disagreement with another guest and how Disney security showed up out of the shadows literally two seconds after said disagreement? Or how about how they followed up around for the remaining of the evening just to make sure we were not causing any more trouble??? huh..huh....You know they have secret service down there and that story my friend is a good one :) :) :)

All kidding aside, I know :)

As long as we're testing...I don't think I've tried posting a pic since I switched to using Google Photos (formerly Picasa I think)...

It occurred to me, being part of the slow camping forum and all ;), that I should try posting a pic from our laptop since that's what I'll have with us to post with on our upcoming trip and I hope to do a live trip report.

And maybe my three posts in a row will agitate people and start a series of snarky comments :rotfl: reading my three posts in a row might cause a touring schedule to be thrown off by literal seconds and thus ruining someone's whole vacation! Tongue is firmly planted in cheek in case you couldn't tell...I love it here in our quiet little corner!

Anyway, here's my trial pic from my laptop (that is freakishly slow!)

Ya'll have been reading those trip reports on the Trip Report forum, haven't ya? :rolleyes1

Boomer has a post-trip report going which is a nice mix of parks and Fort descriptions. We campers are just different. And Kristin we will tag you as the Picasa expert.:teacher:
