Testing: fly or drive to Florida?

We always drove from Connecticut, and honestly I loved that as a kid. The anticipation was so much more fun. It was cool to count down the miles, cross every new state border, see license plates from wherever we could find them, etc. Did anyone else like long drives like this too as part of the whole experience, or would you only ever fly?

I don’t mind the drive but for us the issue is the extra time off work. It takes 2 days to drive down comfortably from northern nj (although I suppose we could consider the auto train) but instead we just fly.
