While I was making numerous trips down the waterslide at BWV, one of the castmembers there (Zeke) would not let me proceed down the slide until I answered his Disney Animated Feature Quiz.

Let's see if you can answer this one:

QUESTION: There are 4 Disney Animated features that have no humans in them. Which are they?

EXTRA CREDIT: There are 15 Disney animated movies that are one word titles. Name them. They can't have the word "The" in them either as in "The Aristocats". (I could only get 13...)

  :earseek:

I cannot get 15 full length animated features without counting "The". However, I am getting 5 with no humans.

No Humans - The Lion King
Dinosaur
The Great Mouse Detective
Robin Hood

One Word Title - Dumbo
Bambi
Aladdin
Cinderella
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Tarzan
Dinosaur
Hercules
Pocahontas
Mulan
Atlantis

So, how did I do? I could only get 12 with 1-word titles...can anyone think of the other three?

As to movies without humans, I also counted Bambi (no human ever appears). As to your list, Atlantis does not make it as it was actually titled Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Otherwise, you have the same 11 I came up with.

Those are the same 12 I got. Curious, I logged onto IMDB pro and did an advanced query looking up animation as genre and Disney as production and/or distribution. I also included features, shorts, TV movies and video. It came up with 31 pages but no additional features with one-word titles than what we've come up with here.

IF you count shorts, you add:
Aquamania - 1961
Bongo - 1971
Melody - 1953
Pedro - 1943
Springtime - 1929
Timber - 1941

IF you count direct to video, you add:
Talespin

IF you count titles with "the" in them, you add:
Aristocats
Rescuers
Castaway (short)
Dognapper (short)

No matter which you count or don't count, it doesn't add up to 15. Granted, IMDB Pro may be missing some, but I've never found that the case. Unless the rules are excepted, or there are some really obscure ones out there, there's no way to get to 15 with this criteria.

Oh, and I also counted Bambi as one with no humans, since you never see them.

When dh and I were eating at the Prime Time with a bunch of other DISers, we also got those questions from "Mom" - sorry but I couldn't come up with all the answers - gets you thinking tho - doesn't it - so did you ever get to go down the slide?

The only other one I can think of that might qualify for the list of single word names is TRON, although I would not consider that a true animated feature.

DH thought of that one and we decided the animation was really just special effects, so it wouldn't count. If you DID, and then also included the two features with "the" in the title, that'd give you the 15.

How about Dinosaur (one word)?

Pat

Edited to add: Oops! My bad! I see you have that one listed.

Wow... I could have used all your help when Zeke first hit me with these. I couldn't count 15 animated either.

A couple of notes... Atlantis isn't one because its' title is "Atlantis, The Lost Empire".

BettyX I don't believe you ever see the hunters in Bambi.

Of the 4 animated features with no humans... Lion King, A Bug's Life, Dinosaur, and Robin Hood.
Any additions?
