Test Track or Soarin FP?

We are going to be at Epcot on June 1 for our only day in the park. We have a 7:45 am Ohana breakfast and will be driving over to Epcot after we eat, so we plan on hitting the park around 9:30 or so.

We originally had a fastpass for Test Track at 9:30 am, but can now change that over to Soarin instead at the same time or later.

I'm thinking about moving the fastpass to later in the morning, and doing either Soarin or Test Track (which ever one we don't have a fastpass for later) standby when we get to the park.

Any idea what we would be looking at for wait times for either of those at 9:30? (Note, single rider line is not an option)

In that situation, which would you do as standby?

I personally would get a fastpass for Soarin'. When it was open, I remember that ride being always a 2 hour wait. Test Track at 9:30 will most likely be around an hour (maybe). Standby for Test Track would be better in my opinion, because about 3/4 of the way through the line, you get to make a vehicle that you will use to compete with everyone during your ride on Test Track.

I would FP Soarin and do single rider for TT. You do the design portion now in FP as well as stand by for TT so that does not matter. In single rider you choose from several pre designed cars. The design does not in any way effect your ride anyway. Depending on how long you are staying in the park you could arguably hit up Future World at night right before close and experience less of a wait for the headliners.

If you want to ride single rider you could do what we did. My son and I went in the exit where the cars are on display. There are a set of three or so monitors in there mixed in with the games and displays. There you can design your car and link it with your magic band. That way when you ride single rider you will already have a car design to use when you board.

Thanks for the responses!

Unfortunately, we have a couple of younger kids that will be riding with us, so single rider is not going to be an option.

The good news is the return of Soarin FP has helped with TT FP+ supply. Now looks like ample FP availability for both, at least for our early-June trip.

It's hard to predict how the 3rd theater will help with Soarin' waits since a new movie is also debuting. The public at large probably doesn't know/care too much about the new movie, so hard to say if demand will outstrip the added throughput of the additional theater.

All things being equal, I'd prefer waiting in the Test Track queue. At least there's some visual interest and the car design segment. With Soarin' you are basically just standing in a hallway (unless they also reconfigured the queue as part of the refurb.)
