Test Track and 3 year old?

My family will be going to Disney in March. My DH wants to take out 3 year old on Test Track in Epcot. We have not been on this ride in almost 4 years so I can't remember how fast it goes. My son is over 40 inches and not afraid of rides but I still think it is to fast for him. Does anyone know how fast it is or taken a young child on this ride?

We took DS on it when he was three and he LOVED it. Last year when he was 4 he was too scared of the noise outside to want to go on it....Oh, well. It goes pretty fast outside, but it's a very smooth ride. If your son is not scared of rides, I think it would be fine for him to go on. My DS was apprehensive on the inside of the ride, but because it was dark. Once we hit the sunlight, he couldn't stop grinning.

My little daredevil was 3 the first time he rode Test Track and it's still his favorite ride! He gets excited when he sees pictures of it.

I don't think it's too fast or rough as long as the child is tall enough. The CM's suggested that we ride with him in between DH and me....just in case it gets bumpy. (which he didn't bump into either of us on the ride) It seems fast b/c it's open to the air but it's not much faster than driving in a regular car. Besides DH drives faster than TT on the expressway every day

My DS was 3yrs 2mos on his first trip to DW. He rode TT 4 times, twice with special passes given to him from a really nice CM. He loved it.

At it's fastest it goes about 65 mph, but that is not for the entire ride. It work up to that speed then slows down.

My youngest DD also took her first ride on test track at 3 yrs old and loved it....
