got to gloat while the gloating's good IMO;) They deserved to lose, played crappy.

DS had to fill in @ church today last min. for another server, that'll teach me to answer the phone when I don't know who's calling:)

pam - Xmas shopping already -OMG! Last year I did alot @ DTD/Nassau, didn't feel like it last trip. Think I might do alot of boring gift cards. Have to keep up the "no credit card vow" I abided by last Xmas...better get on the stick save some money = black friday's right around the corner!

mic - hope you enjoyed arlington (DH family lives there).

ocm - got any leftover cake?

Hi all, we had an awesome day...son/girlfriend, me/hubby, sil/bil all piled in the van and headed to DC and Arlington. We hiked up to the Tomb of the Unknown, watched the changing of the guard, then over to Kennedy's grave. I had not been there in years, so Jackie is now laid to rest with John and Patrick. There is a stone there for Caroline whenever she joins her family. It is always so solumn and moving to go there and see all those graves. We then went to the new Woman's Memorial...and they had an exhibit in there called Faces of the Fallen....

Faces of the Fallen: America's Artists Honor America's Heroes. The Foundation is pleased to announce that the Faces of the Fallen art exhibit on display at the Memorial has been extended indefinitely. A powerful tribute to America's service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, Faces of the Fallen opened March 23, 2005. The exhibit includes over 1,300 portraits by 200 artists and features a variety of mediums, including drawings, paintings, sculpture, relief, collage and textiles. The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, includes portraits of service members killed between Oct. 10, 2001 and Nov. 11, 2004

FACES OF THE FALLEN is a compelling exhibit of more than 1300 individual portraits honoring America's service men and women who died in Afghanistan and Iraq. Talented artists from across the country have donated these works as their gift to a grateful nation and ultimately to the families themselves.

This unique tribute has been conceived and organized by private individuals and funded entirely with private donations. It reflects the desire, expressed in many communities and cities across the country, to honor these brave men and women. It has no official status and has no connection to any government branch or agency.

Since the exhibit opened in March, 2005, an average of 1,000 visitors a day have viewed the portraits. Thanks to this overwhelming response from the families of the fallen and the American public, the exhibit will remain at the Women's Memorial through May 31, 2006.
(it is still there! because of its powerfulness)

It was very hard to read some of the tributes left on the small portraits...momentos and notes from Mom's, children, wives etc. Some were to hard to read. Some bore single roses, some had favorite things of the person. We came upon Pat Tilman's and he had a lot of things on his photo. All so sad.

We then went to Olde Towne Alexandria and had a great lunch at a nice place called Union Street Station, walked around some of the shops, went down on the docks and soon it was time to head home. It was a nice family outing, good to be with them and enjoy each other.

evening all!

what a day...finally got to sit down for a minute!

It was a good day for Trent's football team! :cheer2: they are in tourneys now and they beat the first team 40-0 and then the second game they had to play the undefeated team and guess what?! They won :cheer2: 33-6!!! Now they are in they play for first and second next sunday!
Trent was kinda bummed today. he found out that try outs are next sunday and while he had been playing with his classmates (they are all older than him) they want him to play down this year...he meets the birthday deadline by 15 days.....as a parent I don't know what to do! One way he could be the star of the team if he plays down, but the other way he won't be able to play with all of his friends...i guess we will see what they ask of us.

Mic--i am so glad you had a good day! Sounds very sad! I couldn't open your link, but I will try again later.

ks--i vowed no credit cards this year too...that is why i am starting early :thumbsup2 :teeth:

mac--i am NOT done yet...i have bought a little here and there but for the most part i still have a whole bunch left to get. About the guitar...i talked to one of trent's friends dads and he told me that he thought it would be a fine starter for trent...so i guess i don't have any other questions  :teeth:

ocm--yes--sometimes pink is a good thing...............right tony?!!? :lmao:

Have a good night everyone!!!!

GO TRENT........this was an awesome day for him and the team :cool1:

You guys will do the right thing about what team he plays with...it will all work out for sure........ :thumbsup2

Off to watch a little TV and back to the grind tomorrow....Tony will be yelling soon enough.......

Mac, back from the train yet?

hi ho i am home now.

great news on trent's team.
he is the winner !! :cheer2: :cheer2:

that's a tough question pam. stay with the present group for next year or step down and be the big man on the block.

either way, he will come out ahead.
