ocm - perhaps you should have have charged admission darn nosy neighbors...any offers to cut it next time? My sage advice is to wear closed toe shoes & long pants to avoid getting hit with debris. Don't forget to clean out under the mower/blade later once it's cooled down. Isn't it to know what a strong, capable chick can accomplish?

Some smartass on here told me that it was against the law to mow the lawn barefoot. And me being the dummy that I am completely beleived him. I asked him how much the fine was, how they know that anyone is mowing barefoot..

No I had on way less clothing..

I do have a story about cutting the grass with scissors, although, it wasnt me. Lee's grandmother was visiting from the philippines and they don't have grass there, let alone lawn mowers. So, the three boys were told to cut the grass and they never did. They got home from school to find their grandmother with a pair of those big scissors and a big hat cutting the grass.

Lee still laughs about that story.

my aunt ran over my cousin's foot with a riding lawn mower when he was little. He was where he wasn't suppose to be and my aunt didn't see him. I wouldn't recommend mowing barefoot!

turn it off

let motor cool down

making sure gas cap is on very tight (unless it's electric), turn it on it's side.

with garden hose or gloved hand remove any debris around blade

once a year remove said blade & have sharpened or buy a new one

i've slipped before when cutting grass on a slope, scary - have heard many stories of missing toes & fingers...I always wore work boots for traction & hope that it might save my tootsie toes.

Of course, DH sez I married him to get out of garbage & yard duty.

bob--how's your soccer team doing?

Pretty good It's a good group of kids (no major headcases, at least as far as I can tell ) and they all seem to be having fun and playing pretty well together. If we were keeping score, we'd probably have lost both games so far, but fortunately, that's not the focus of the league at this age.

Oh, and Cam has 5 goals in 2 games.

youngest DS isn't getting picked up until 6:30/7:00 p.m. for weekend outing, which means I miss older boys' football game (they're none too happy)...I need to be cloned.

Ed, Rosie to me is just a big mouth.......sure, she can have her opinion, but to me, she wants her opinion and wants everyone else to share it. I liked her at one time, but she is just too much about herself and her own agenda for me to like her anymore.

Today Nico has his first Soccer game and then we are off to the airport to pick up Grandpapa Tony.

it is saturday !!


so much to catch up on but i tell you, teaching high school is like a full time job now.

no wonder i love summer , spring, and winter breaks so much ...


mr robot, thanks for the coffee the past days.
i kept it in the fridge and it still tastes so good.

doing errand today.
son home last night and will be here until sunday.

then work all next week...........and other son comes into chicago train station next saturday morning.......(he comes home once a month by train and i pick him up there, then he goes to work that saturday and leaves sunday at 3 for the train station...)......he has to do that in order to keep his job.
it's not a great job but this way he can work all christmas vacation time. he has almost 5 weeks off school then. if he doesn't work one day a month, he would be let go.


wow, bet you didin't know i teach english some days by the way that paragraph up there was written..........its saturday, i'm off work and don't have to look educated on the weekends......

Morning all!

Yes, it is applejack here this weekend! I just got back from helping with the 5 mile fun run. My sorority puts it on every year then noah ran in the 1 mile kids fun run.

We are out of here in a few to go to the parade and I want to hit a few of the craft shows.
