it is almost 85 in my house right now.
we had our second brown out before 2 today, power just came back on.

did you miss me while i was gone???


i missed me, and i missed the computer.

anywho.
the fans are on now and it is not cutting the mustard. still hot.
have all the windows open and only hot air comes in.

i am melting.

Oh mac, that is awful..........the power going kaput.....now that it's back, can't you run the a/c just to cool off the house, then run the fans? It is about 92 still here...and going to be hazy and humid the rest of the evening...in case you all haven't heard me...I DON'T LIKE IT....nope, not one bit...........

but then, i get to play on the computor and he lives with it.


starting to fix dinner.
this is a night to order a pizza so my kitchen won't get hotter.......
but kids want stuffed pork chops so that it is......

i think it might rain tonight.
we know the wind is not going to blow......

Pizza sounds good.........I hate putting the oven on even with the a/c on in the house.........just makes it too hot.

Well, dh left for work early, ds is going out with friends....the one boy is turning 21 so they are off to party..............he took off tomorrow, and they promised to take a cab into the city so I'm not up all night worrying....I love when he shows me I taught him well.................

well, the ac meanie is home and he says, its hot but not that bad as it will only hit about 88 tomorrow..............ugh.....he works in ac, the train ride is ac...................

but, he pays the bills and says we can't afford it.
this part of illinois has the highest rates in the nation for electricity and gas.
they are billed separate.

we did run the air for 6 days a couple of weeks ago. that's when it hit 102 for two days straight and it was the weekend and sh was home.
one week of ac costs us $100. that's over what our bill runs.
i think the last elec bill was 325 + the week of air. the only thing that is electric at our place are the lights, comp, tv, that type of stuff.
gas in the winter is high also. our highest bill was february and it totaled with taxes to be $512.



and that's all i have to say.

how high are utilities in your neck of the woods?
maybe you do pay more than we do.

Electricity goes up in the summer for us....and I posted before I think how much our propane has risen..........we only heat our hot water and it is $4.14 per pound now so even with our limited use (takes little to heat the water in the summer) it was $175....but I will say I think it had to do with when the heater went and we had to refill and reheat it all when we got it installed. Oil is how we heat the house in the winter and that has gone from monthly budget payments of $89 to $109.......... I'm on budget with electric also and I guess it runs around $68 a month give or take a few dollars up and down depending on the time of year. The oil heat is gonna be the killer, although the propane which used to cost us hardly a thing is close behind it............blech on it all............bills go up and paycheck doesn't.. and don't even talk about what it costs to fill the van up with gas anymore...............I do try and limit my driving though and try and do my "going to town" errands to one day a week.......can hardly wait til I start work.......... I'll be filling up a lot more.

I think I would die in your neck of the woods Mac. Last month was my highest electric since we've been here. It was $385 but that was with the air going 24/7/31. I could never let Mrs. Dude watch the kiddies in the swealtering heat. I checked it against last years July bill and it was about $65 higher than that.

August should be cheaper since we will be going on vacation and the house/kitty sitter will only need air on the 1st floor. As far as gas goes, I use a budget plan with my company and pay anywhere from $113 - $153 per month all year long. It flucuates with the usage but I know I will not get hit with a big payment. So, when gas and electric are concerned, BRING ON SPRING AND FALL for me.

i have to say that it may not be great to live in nebraska but our cost of living is decent...but along with that we don't make as much moola!

i think our utility( water, electric, gas, and sewer) was $195 this month which is about normal for us but in the winter it hit in the $200's

i am watching the yankees play....they just blew a 4-0 lead!

Yes, the Yanks are losing.............. which is a good thing....the Red Sox won...but Manny busted his nose or something....I did not see the game, was listening on the computer....so I'm trying to catch Baseball tonight, but seems the Yanks can't get their game over by just losing.... 2 outs bottom of 9th.....hmmmmmmmmm

Boy, I don't think I saw but Home Alone 1 and 2....ever.....that is like the Land Before Time..............I think the last one was Land Before Time 389....
