up and at 'em all..........

the start of the work week for pam........think she will go back to the pizza parlor this week?

Looks as if a little minnow has swum into the test thread. Judging from the listed birthdate, he is going into 4th or 5th grade. Glad the avatar worked minnow.

Maybe today OCM will check in. I hope she is doing wonderful. Hope you all have a great day.

AMU_Fisher_towers_SS1.jpg

Good morning bouys and gulls............that is because we have a minnow amongst us :rotfl: :rotfl:

Breakfast looks great....I'll have one of those, and some of these and........~~~~~~~that's me with my mouth full....... :flower:

Ed, sunrise is cool.........and getting your eats all lined up is good, don't you feel accomplished now? So where special did you pick?

and to start the week off:

Sun1c.jpg

Let see off the top of my head we are going to Ohana,Konas (we are staying at the Polynesian) Donalds Breakfastarus,Mama Melrose,Hoop dee doo, Whispering Canyon cafe, Cinderella royal table dinner,Sci Fi drive in,with the group we have Tonys for breakfast and Liberty tree on the day we do MNSSHP. I still have more to make but I may wait till we get closer to the departure or until we are down there so I know where we will be so Im not trying to run from one end of the world to the other.

Those are all good places Ed.....you will love everyone of them. Is this repeat trips for you to them? or first time?

I know the Oct. group has big plans, that will be so much fun for you guys. Although it is not character or anything overly special, I love the Rose & Crown in Epcot.............I like talking to the waiter/waitresses about where they are from in England and I love their accents. I've never had a bad meal there, although the menu is not that extensive.........plus you can get a half yard of beer there :cool1: DH tried the sampler once and it was like 6 or 7 small glasses of different ales/beers to try..........if I drank that I'd have been in the loo all night :)

Other than Hoop Dee Doo these will all be new to me, I ate in Whispering canyon but that was back in 1994 when we stayed there.

Oh boy, you are in for some good eats then......... :cool1:

I just within the past couple years tried O'Hana's and I really like it and think you get a good bit for the cost. Only did Whispering Canyon once for breakfast....but it must be pretty good, whenever we stay at WL it is always packed. Kona's is pretty good, they have way cool desserts there. If you ever want to try something where you can just relax and get an array of everything, the Trails End Buffertia in FW is good too. When we stayed at WL we would just take the boat over....yum. I've never done the really "fancy/pricey" restaurants at Disney, mostly because I don't care for that type of food, but many do, so that's nice they have them. Haven't eaten at AKL restaurants when staying there either because the menu doesn't appeal to me. We used the food court there a good bit, you could get a nice little meal there and take it out to the pool and eat if you like. Rainforest is always good too, although you most likely have them in the Boston area and know what they are all about. :flower:

ed, from your list i have been to tonys and sci fi many times.

tonys has the best steaks........their pasta dishes can easily be shared. big portions.
i sit in the middle where the fountain is. many like to sit out front where it is all glass and watch the parade/people from there.

the desserts there are yummy.

about sci fi........been there 5 times and no more.
expensive/ over priced on the sandwiches........the reuben is good and fair price for disney. hamburgers good but better at other places.

the desserts are the best there though and the milk shakes.

the only way i would do sci fi again is for dessert. check the menu on allears and the uk site. you will see what i mean.

i love the old B b & w movies they show. i believe it repeats it self every 50 minutes. what i don't like about the seating is you share the cars if you don't have 5-6 people with you.
last time i took my two kids there we had the back of the car. there are six rows in each vehicle/table. its like a table counter in the middle with two rows facing each other. one family had the first 4 rows. we had the end two rows. one of my sons sat with me facing the movie screen. the other son sat with his back to the screen facing us. the mom and her 3 year old was in the bench seat behind the row where my one son sat solo.
her horrible kid kept turning around, standing on the seat and would grab brian's hair with his ketchup fingers. then he would throw food at us.
i pointed this out to his mom and she didn't stop him. she thought it was so cute. ya, like ketchup in my kid's hair was cute..........

if you have 5-6 people in your group request for the entire car and put two in each bench seat.

another set of words of wisdom from :teacher:

i am doing many firsts for dining on this trip.
my firsts at ohana, grand floridian cafe, CRT dinner, marrakesh, concourse, le cellier.
for counter trying for the first time, tangerine, columbia house. might be more, don't have my list in front of me.

Looks like the teach :teacher: gave a good lesson in Disney Dining 101.... :flower:

I agree about Sci-Fi, it is fun, but it is pricey....glad I did it once, but it wouldn't necessarily have to be done again. I've never done dinner at Tony's mac, only breakfast. In fact, I liked it better years ago when Oscar Meyer ran it and it had characters around for breakfast and wasn't so pricey. But, everything is pricy in WDW...although I do think you get good size portions at just about anyplace you plop your butt down at.

I got a surprise phone call :listen: a few minutes ago. One of my dear friends (and my boys godmother) called me ....she has a lofty position with the Food Service Division of the Board of Ed..and wanted to know if I might be interested in a temp office position for a couple months, something to do with the reduced lunch program etc. I said "YES"....BUT...I have two vacations planned........so she said let her check with her boss and see, so they called back and I'm going in tomorrow to chat with them. If it is something that would work for them and me, they can work with my time off! It is like an August to November type position, but hey, its a foot in the door with the Board of Ed. I worked for my friend years ago, when my boys were in elementary school in the cafeteria...and I know I could ask her anytime about getting back on in that capacity, but I just don't think I want that type of work anymore, its hard work! So, we'll see how it goes... :flower3:

Wish it was Thursday, then I wouldn't have to worry about dressing today..... ......but glad the interview is tomorrow and NOT Thursday... :p

oh, mic.........that is good news !!

you must be a wonderful type of employee to have someone call you to ask if you want to work for them. consider that a very high compliement.

most of the time we have to hunt down the job leads and stand in line for them jobs. you are a lucky ducky......they came calling for you !

think you could eat on the job there?

be sure to wear shoes tomorrow for the interview.......and clean undies :rolleyes1

LOL......my first thought after I hung up the phone...WTH am I going to wear??? I know my friend is helping me out, so I have to make sure not to embarass her............ :rotfl: :rotfl: I think I've met the head honcho once a long time ago..........but I'm not too worried...right now I'm obsessing because it will be like when I went to work for TDS...I was terrified of working the register..........well, I became pretty darn good at it and even trained new hires once in awhile.......so I'm sure with some help I would be able to handle this....working on a computer and answering the phone....the very thing I am good at :rotfl2: I know it is something I can handle, its just the idea of catching on.........that always worries me.
It is so funny she called, cause I'd been thinking about calling her to see if she knew any positions opening up. You almost have to know someone to get your foot in the door with the BOE for some things, so this might be a good thing. Again, we'll see................

I've always told you guys I'm special..............now you know it!!! ;)

I'm sure eating is allowed, they are the head of all the county cafeterias....but do you remember school cafeteria food??? some of it is ok, but some of it is :crazy2:

mic, to me.....food is food.........it's there, i eat it.

i think you should wear a white sheer skirt with leopard colored thong for the interview.

it might help you get more than your foot in the door.

If I was interviewing with a man, I guess the thong and sheer blouse would get me in the door.............. :flower: but I don't think this lady would appreciate that type of attire............. :teeth:

When I worked in the cafeteria, it was not as it is now, where they have a central location that cooks the stuff and brings it in, plus all the stuff the kids have to choose from today. We MADE most everything from scratch, cakes, meals everything. Used to dish up the fruit cups ourselves, make cookies and at Thanksgiving even cook turkey for the family dinner day...it was MUCH different back then, and it was still hard work and lots of cleanup. My friend who was the manager of that school cafeteria at the time....(before she moved on and up....LOL) was a stickler on the cleanliness routine and health dept. stuff and I'm telling ya, that kitchen was SPOTLESS before any of us could leave. Which is a good thing really, but she was a tough cookie to work for. A lot of people didn't like her for that reason, but I understand not wanting the health dept. to come and find anything messed up. I could be a cashier now I think, they do all that by computer I think. Used to be you sat on a stool at a register and took money and tickets and stuff...don't think they do that now. See, it was back in the dark ages that I worked there................heck, we wore white pants and like floral polyester button down the front tops.......we were stylin' man........oh, can't forget the white sneaks.......... :rotfl2:
