TEST (part 2)

If an Indian Blessing keeps you safe, that is awesome:thumbsup2 It could very well be true...glad you were spared the storms. It is raining here today and dreary, more to come tomorrow with warmer temps, typical spring in the east.

I've been perusing the restaurants to call for our trip...it's only 4 nights, so I think I have it down to what I want...has anyone done the Disney Dining thing? It is like $37.99 per person..and if you eat a sitdown each evening and do a lunch, I could see the $75 per day being a good deal. Dinner alone could run at least $50 and lunch for 2 also at around the $25 mark...I'm thinking about it, nothing for certain.

Tony, I would love to try and meet with you for a bit if you would be interested! We could make it short if you like or join us for a meal maybe, let me know if you might be interested. I don't bite...:goodvibes and hubby is one of those guys that just about everyone likes...nothing fancy about us at all.

Ok, I can't believe its another 2.5 hrs. of work.....

Pam, that is awesome about Noah and the contacts, is he still enjoying them today? I've worn them for years myself so they are like a part of me;) I had them when they were still glass......now that is a long time ago....ya know, when we rode dinosaurs to the corner store:upsidedow Did you tell me that you had all your ADR's lined up for your trip? I'm sure you told me and I've forgotten.

KS, I missed where you said about a perm...and I thought I read everything well......when you going for that? This new color the gal used has stayed on my roots much better then ever, I'm pleased this time around. OK..edited to add, I found the 'poodle' comment...LOL...I bet it will look nice, they have such relaxed perms and unfrizzy ones today....I would like to have one again, but with my color, it makes for a bad hair relationship..so I've been away from them for several years now.

i don't add to my wardrobe when i throw a party...

i take things off:eek: jk:rotfl:

now that i have your attention...

as usual, i have nada to say.:3dglasses

finally, finished the 3 movies blockbuster sent us: Legend (good, could've been better); stargate-something or other( dh is a fan) & Enchanted:thumbsup2 (some belly laffs there). What else is good out there to add to my list? Anybody see American Gangster, Beowulf, No Country For Old Men or Bee Movie?popcorn::

going to get a perm for 1st time in 20 years, will probably turn into a poodle, trying for the beach look...beached whale more like it:lmao:

you kill me.
test buddy, you write so well you have me in stitches a lot of the time.

i saw American Gangster and loved it.
the acting is so good by denzel you will end up hating him.

please, don't go poodle on us.
but if you do, post a pic. :hippie:

Keisha - I am sure you will look amazing in your perm.

I have a hair story for you all. I took a shower yesterday morning and grabbed the first srunchy I saw to throw my hair back. My hair was soaking wet, but I had to get the kids ready and make a phone call.

The scunchy had been in my bag a while ago when my green pen burst open last summer. I even remember the pen bursting because my mom was in my car with me and we were trying to clean the ink off everything.

So, two hours laters, I pulled my hair out to have Lee say, um..your hair is green. Yes, right at the top of my head where the ponytail was, a green circle that went around the back of my hair and back up. The ink had bled right where the scrunchy was.

I washed my hair for the next 45 minutes to no avail. The ink was stuck in there. So I threw my hair back up (in a different hairclip) and drove to the first open Salon. When I took my hair to show the hairdresser, she gasped so loud I think she took all of the air out of the room. She said she was going to have to test different strands to see which color would work the best at covering the green marks.

So, I now have chunky platinum blonde highlights. I am not a huge fan of chunky highlights. I would rather have them blend into my hair naturally, but at this point, I was not in a position to make any suggestions.

They were able to get all the green out. I thanked the woman over and over and over again for taking me last minute.

I will take pictures of the scrunchy culprit as well as the new hairdo as soon as Lee gets back tonight.

Again..much like the bengay thong incident..I swear things like this only happen to me.

oh my goodness !!!
i would die if that happened to me.

after all, we are talking about hair........
please have lee take the pic and post it for us.
can't wait.

refresh my memory on the bengay thong incident. i don't remember the story. i am sure it is a hoot.

Pam - The tornado was North of us about 30 miles. There is a legend that there is an old Indian blessing over Tuttle protecting it from bad storms. Sometimes I swear it must be true. We have had many bad ones heading right at us and they either split and go on both sides of us then join back up or they make a turn just before they get to us and miss us all together.

The big storm in May of 99 missed my house by 3 miles. It made just enough of a turn as it got close to miss us. That thing was massive and on the ground for well over an hour. The damage it did was unbelievable. We were very fortunate.

i was at Ft Sill during one horrible storm.
that was scarey.

i think that is not far from you, Lawton?

we like indians.............a lot........

see another one for the no poodle look.......

i did the disney dining 4 times now.
1 time i paid for it,
the other 3 times i did a package for it.
out of the 3 "free" times, only 2 of them were to my advantage financially.
the one time i took it, my room rate increased by $22 a night x 10 nights and i barely made it back what i paid extra for.
i think it was $2 either way that time.

it is too much food for me.
i could do one huge meal every other day.
the snack option i used for water in the parks and that was good.

i am very happy having a light salad during the late day.

there are places i do go to and pig out but pay oop for them.
le cellier, ohana, plaza

ok, all back to work now.

Sent you my cell # in a PM...:yay:

..and I answered you back:goodvibes

I'm still hoping for maybe the free dining to pop up, but this Disney Dining thing, I'm making myself dizzy with reading up on this stuff, now I'm not sure if you have to buy a pass thru Disney to be able to take part in the plan or not...I know with the free dining you have to have a one day pass at least. I just was thinking for $37.99 a day per person, eating dinner at a sit-down and a good lunch would equal out to that much....who knows, we might end up eating hot dogs everyday if stuff keeps going up  You are right mac, the free dining is a whole lotta eating, but it was fun cause I got to eat at places I wouldn't have tried.

mic, mouse miser is a travel agency and they are posting about the free dining deal that will happen in the spring.

they said that disney visa holders can book on april 7 and non card holders on the 11 for the free dining package deal.

that's all i know about it.

if the dining / free with package comes up for my time period of october arises, i am taking a pass. right now i have 4 room key cards for a one day entrance to the park. i packed the 3 of those cards and can't find the 4th one right now.......another thing to drive me nuts........

i don't want to do the package since i would have to include that $76 cost for the one day disney ticket again.

i go thru mouse savers for the hoppers and get them cheaper than disney.
(have to buy them in advance though, not valid buying at the gate)
the AAA room only discount rate is decent with 15% off

i'll still eat at some of my favorites but won't be a pig all day long on the next trip.

i hope you and tony can meet up.
he is kewl

I thought I posted this story here

I came home from step class with a cramp in my hamstring. I am use to dealing with sore muscles, but this pain was awful. As I was walking into my house, the pain worsened. I was in a hurry to get ready because two of my kids had soccer pictures and we needed to leave the house in 40 minutes.

As I walked up the steps into my bedroom, I was cringing with pain. I slowly made my way to the shower and made the water as hot as possible, hoping the hot water would ease the pain. As I got out, I realized my hopes were dashed as the pain was even stronger. I toweled off as quickly as I could and ran for the bengay.

As fast as I could, I opened the bengay and slathered it over my right hamstring as my muscle was tigheting and the pain shooting up and down my body. I laid on my stomach in my bed, trying to massage the Bengay into my upper leg as much as I could. Trying to relax, I slowly roll over bending my leg ever so slightly still rubbing.

"Mom!!! We are going to be late. Hurry up" are the shouts I hear coming from the bottom of the stairs. I sit up and look at the clock.."Oh crap" I mutter as I hoist myself off the bed. I grabbed my thong and quickly slid that on. Then, I grabbed my bra, shirt, and socks. I went to put my jeans on and as I bent to slide my first leg in..it hit me!

The pain first hot, then cold was shooting up me from where my thong had slid up my leg. I was jumping up and down, but then my hamstring started cramping again. "Mom!! We have to go!!"

I quickly realized that we were very late. Do I have time to change the thong? Will another thong ride up the side of my leg and into position only to have gathered the same amout of Bengay or maybe more? Time being my enemy, I decided to finish getting dressed. Laughing in pain as the tears were streaming down my face, I got in the car and drove. hot..cold..hot...cold...this went on for well over an hour.

So the life lesson: If your leg is cramping. Put your thong before applying any topical cream!

Mac - I hear you with the dining plan, but I still will get it if the offer is available to me. I think it's just a great deal..even if I dont use it all.

Mic - I hope you get to meet up with TVT. That is awesome about your new TV!!!

Keisha - do post pics when you get your hair done!!

Pam - it has been a yucky day here too. Cool about Noah's contacts!!

TVT - hope you have a good week. Mic is fabulous..you will really get along with her.

Lori - I hope somethimg like that doesn't happen to you!! I was freaking out.

mic--we are doing the dining plan when we go. I just figured it was a better deal with the way my family eats. I did fib a little and say noah is 9...don't stone me to death:rolleyes: He won't eat most of the stuff on the adult menu anyway. I figured he will do better on the kids menu. You do need to buy a pass to be on the dining plan...that is what my TA said anyway.

mac--my foot is about the same. It hasn't hurt as much but i haven't done a thing on it...i think I am going to cancel my dr. appt. in April and ask them if they can hook me up with some drugs:rolleyes: I just need to get some walking in before we go to disney so i'm not dying.

ocm--that is to funny about the bengay.:rotfl2: Noah is putting his contacts in right now...he is doing pretty good with them. He is just wearing them for sports right now.

lori--I would take any kind of blessing if it keeps everyone safe. I am glad that it didn't get close to you.

tony--that is awsome if you meet up with mic...you know we will be there in May;)

i was at Ft Sill during one horrible storm.

we like indians.............a lot........

Yep, it is about an hour away. I am really surprised it didn't get bad here today. It was very warm & humid @ 7 this morning. It just had that feeling to it. Fortunately we got rain and now very bright, sunny skies!

We did the ddp twice. Both times we came out ahead but only by a little. Now that the gratuituty is not included we would not break even. Our sit down meals are primarily character meals so they just aren't expensive enough. It did give me the opportunity to eat at Le Cellier, which we now love!

Unless you are there through DVC you have to have the room, a ticket, and the meal all purchased together. It was way to much food before but now it is harder to break even. We won't be doing it again.

i go thru mouse savers for the hoppers and get them cheaper than disney.
(have to buy them in advance though, not valid buying at the gate)
the AAA room only discount rate is decent with 15% off

If we are getting AP's we get them through DVC. We get a VERY nice discount. If we are getting MYW tickets we get them at Shades of Green once we arrive. DH is with the DOD so we get to go there and not pay sales tax on our passes.

OH MY GOODNESS! How painful that must have been. I can't believe you put on muscle rub after a shower. With your pours opened from the water it should have been very hard to handle anywhere, let alone there! :scared1:

Lori - I hope somethimg like that doesn't happen to you!! I was freaking out.

The hair thing I could see happening, the thong - no way! :rotfl:

I have the opposite problem with Ally. I would need to buy her the adult plan now or leave her off the ressie. She won't really eat off the kids menu. She wants things like Salmon & Steak.

Whatever keeps tornados away is god with me too! :thumbsup2

I totally agree! Whatever works. :thumbsup2 I hate dreary days. I could never live in Seatle. Hopefully you will get some nice, warm spring days soon!

It sure is looking like we are going to have a very hot summer.

we luved the DP, before they tinkered with it:rolleyes: ; still a good deal imo since it makes me feel less of a spendthrift @ dinner (i typically find myself checking the menu prices and not ordering what i want/which is usually the most expensive:confused3 ). I think it's a better idea for a shorter trip 5 days or less, otherwise just too much food. Family joke here "...eat it, it's paid for..." . The snack is what makes it appealing to me...can you say mickey rice krispie treats, cinnamon buns & dole floats - drool.

barb - armed me with the specifics i needed as to roller size, etc. for ms hairdresser (salon owner). I haven't had color since end of November so hair was in good shape (just roots galore that'll be touched up in a couple of weeks). I didn't know she was using 50 developer on me, she stopped mid-stream of rolling my hair to have me sign a release - jik:eek: . I think it turned out very well, a little tighter than i would like - from experience it tends to loosen up after i wash it a couple times. I took a curling iron to the ends for a few secs to touch it up...best of all guess what she charges for a perm & haircut? $39:upsidedow ; i tipped her $10:rotfl: . Hope she doesn't figure out her prices are too low. Know my highlighting is 1/2 what i paid in other joint. Although i paid $14+tip for DSs haircut:confused3

luv the dinosuar funnee!

my kids used to always ask how old they were before we went to a restaurant:rolleyes1 . I always ate the kids meal & appetizer & let jr have my meal @ WDW on DP.

glad to hear noah's breaking in the contacts...make sure he cleans them well, jeremy got more than a few infections - the dr. said it happens alot on dusty ball fields:confused3

ocm - i read your story a couple times before the enormity of it sunk in...course i don't wear a thong;)

mac - omg, i'm recycling my material?:headache: i'm turning into my mother - nooooooooo!:lmao:

I totally agree! Whatever works. :thumbsup2 I hate dreary days. I could never live in Seatle. Hopefully you will get some nice, warm spring days soon!

It sure is looking like we are going to have a very hot summer.

hot we can take & no bad storms out your way though!

that's a beautiful pic of you keisha.

you don't have the poodle look at all!

the last perm i had was about 7 years ago.
yea, hair to the waist and i got a spiral.

it took a long time but i was happy with it for the first 3 months.
after that, the weight of my hair pulled the curl out where i really needed it.

yours looks fantastic!!

Diet Questions Answered

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

------------------- ---------------------------------------------------

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!!.... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around themiddle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

- ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:
'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO! What a Ride'
NOw

AND......

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Morning All!

mac - i cannot imagine how long it took to wrap a spiral on such long hair, or the cost. My head of hair is a might perky today:upsidedow ; DH sez it looks almost like it was when i 1st met him...that me: a throwback to the 80's, with big hair baby:banana: ; least it's not hanging in my face:woohoo:

tony - i knew it was the king's english holding me back:teacher:

saw a teaser yesterday on ABC as to some primetime news show wherein Diane Sawyer was doing a bit on living (healthy) until you are 150. Evidently, the key is to drink red wine for some special element in it (tannin perhaps? sorry, can't remember). Only problem is, in order to achieve the necessary dose; you'd have to enjoy 150 bottles a day:happytv: .

dragging ma to drs this am & jrs. caddy classes:snooty: start @ country club this afternoon. It's very chi-chi...they have an elevator from the 17th to the 18th hole:rolleyes:

Good morning all......lots of chatter going on....I didn't get back on last night and missed the new 'do'...KS...post it again real quick, let me see it...pleassseeeeeee....I love new to see a new 'do'

Yeah, I'll keep on the lookout for the freebie dining, not sure about it, but we'll see. I really need to make this an economy trip as everything keeps going up lately...except my paycheck:mad: the grocery store is right up there now with gas as being outrageous...we just got our last invoice for oil delivery at the house.....it was $3.80 per gallon and it was $600+ :headache:  Glad we are on budget plan, but still, they keep raising that every month......vicious cycle

Momma, your Bengay story reminds me of a guy in here who was letting the little sales gal try some hot sauce he had, called 'Da Bomb'...he recommended she wash her hands after using it and she asked why.....he replied 'well, if you go to the bathroom and touch some place you don't want 'hot' or you rub your eyes you might be sorry:lmao:

Tony - Woo Hoo! I can keep eating my foods. Love cutting out the middle man, so to speak. Steak, Yum!

KS - Glad you are liking the do. Good luck with ma at the doc & jr. at caddie lessons.

Pam - Morning! You have a good day too!

Mic - It was chatty around here yesterday. Prices for everything are just crazy. Don't know what we are going to do.

Hi Mac! And everyone else. Hope you all have a great day.
