It is Noah's birthday today...he is a the big 1-0....i can't believe he is in double digits:sad2:

My doggie is gone today getting groomed. One of my parent's work at the Vet where she gets groomed so she takes her in for me and brings her back at the end of the day. It is amazing how much you miss them when they are gone.

Have a good day everyone.

Mac - Glad you are home safe and sound. Can't wait to see your pics.

Pam - Happy birthday to Noah! The big 1-0 huh. What grade is he in?

KS & Mic - Morning!

Have a terrific day everyone!

Happy Birthday Noah and also to my Mom who shares her day with Noah:goodvibes What is on the agenda for the birthday boy? Seems Jacie is getting a 'birthday' grooming :lmao: It does seem strange when they are gone for the day, I'm constantly wondering why mine isn't under my feet;)

KS, I know sorta what type of work your dh has done and is going to once again do. My dh worked all those years in an aluminum smelting company. He was a mechanic on the 'potline' which were the humongous building size pots that they melted the 'dust' in to make it into a liquid to pour as aluminum ingots. It was freezing cold in the winter and hotter then hades in the summer. I could always grasp the hot in summer with those pots 'cookin' but never got why it was so cold in the winter, but most of the building where they are housed were open air. He did it for over 30 years...its kinda nice now that his last (hopefully anyway) job before retiring is kinda less stressful, fairly easy and in our backyard more or less. He has 5 yrs left. I can't see waiting for 65 or whatever to get more ssecurity, you might live to collect it for the extra couple hundred bucks a month. Oh gosh, I don't want to talk about being 62.......ick:upsidedow it will be here soon enough.

They are doing a photo shoot in the lobby right now to produce a brochure for the company. Everyone is cracking up trying to be 'serious' and look serious, like they are a married couple looking at granite...LOL

Here comes the witch woman.......bye

Bubba and the Tater!

Bubba liked to frequent the old swimming hole but was never able to attract the girls.

He decided to ask his friend Billy-Bob for advice.

"It's those big baggy swimming trunks that make you look like an old fool...They're years outta style.

"Your best bet is to grab yourself a pair of Speedos-about two sizes too little and drop a fist-sized tater down inside them.

"I'm telling ya man....you'll have all the babes you want!"

The following weekend, Bubba hits the swimming hole with his spanking new tight Speedos, and his fist-sized potato.

Everybody at the swimming hole was disgusted as he walked by, covering their faces, turning away, laughing, looking sick!

Bubba went back to his buddy Billy-Bob and asked him, "What's wrong now?"

"Lard-Almighty Bubba!" said Billy-Bob,

"The tater goes in front......"

:rotfl: we can only look on our budget!

i never knew exactly what your DH did all those years, know we're accustomed to just holding our breath every time contract goes up for renewal (and they give back all the goodies, including DHs present job:rolleyes1 ). I just keep getting creeped out since a veteran of the dept, doing same job died this year (after lingering awhile-poor guy) when the ladle burped when he was taking a sample & burnt him:sad1: ...i shall think happy thoughts (another got yanked into machinery eek)

on a happier note - 10; Noah is 10:banana: (he's an adult now according to Disney lol;) ; my DSs always asked in a sim. dining situation "how old am I today ma"...i shall go to heck in a hand-basket for sure:laughing:
GF%20-%20Cathyqus%20birthday%20cake%203%2012-4-02.JPG
this cake is from the GF-how the other half lives

tater tots-yum! just back from chinese buffet with hubby, they had them on the buffet:confused3 ; tony should start a friday funny for us:idea: :thumbsup2

TVT....:lmao: :lmao: that was funny

KS, seems like our dh's do/did the same type work. Never figured they would pretty much close our place down, at one time it employed around 650 people. We lived through many a contract renewal and being sold from French owners to some other bunch and everything steadily eroding away, including the good 'perks' and benefits. It was hard and sad, but he had to walk away when he did or forfeit an extra few bucks for retiring when he did. We will get the extra until we qualify for SS. Believe me, his retirement is hardly nothing, couldn't live on it. It was like 34 years gone for a pittance. We were supposed to get free healthcare also forever, and they reneged on that and we pay $75 a month for each of us, which really is still a bargain, but it was just another screw they turned. Was a lot of years at a job that they didn't care when it was time to shut it down. They actually still have maybe 10 people working there...not sure what they do. Guess hubby could have hung on, but he felt taking the extra $$ every month was the thing to do, not knowing if they would/could force him out at any time.

So...no more gloom and doom...only an hour to go....

good morning test buddies.

apparently, i am still on "local" time.

went to bed this morning and got up an hour ago.

pst, noah, save me a piece of cake

mac - you've turned into a beach bum:goodvibes now, that's the life for me...although i'd join up with capt jack any day of the week...come to think of it, DH would probably too:rotfl:

mic - yep, the world is not the same place...yet, i'm not ready to get off yet either.;)

keisha, i missed the big snow of over 13 inches last week here in zion.
but now i get to look out the window and watch it snow......

there's no place like home...........:hippie:

mac must be a shock to your system, all that sand - now snow-yuk...you have memories & pics to keep you warm:goodvibes

Noah is a 4th grader.

Dave and Noah are outside playing with Noah's birthday present. He was thrilled to get a new baseball bat.

Mic--have you talked to your mom? did she have a good bday today?

I think we are headed out to eat for Noah's day...have a good night everyone.

Have a good dinner out Noah and enjoy your birthday....the BIG 1-0....woohoo:cool1:

I did call my mom, and she had just got in from a jaunt to Wal-Mart...she was pretty wore out and she gets very nervous and shaky when she has overdone. This is only her real second outing since all her surgeries etc., so for to even go was an event. I told her to relax and sit down and get her wits about her, I would call her over the weekend when she was more able to chat.

KS, don't feel bad, I can't afford granite countertops either...the material is beautiful though...I often wish we could see the finished product after people come in and pick it. We had a lady today picking out for her 3...yep count em, 3 homes.......... I think the pictures are eventually going to be on the website, if they are I'll link you to them. They wanted me sitting for the receptionist pictures and I said, nope, nada, no-way......so the marketing gal sat in my chair for the posed photo op.

It is rainy looking and chilly, but no snow like mac is getting...oh mac, what a bummer from Hawaii to winter.......:headache: :guilty:

Think I will peddle a bit my friends.......will drop by later.

Mic - forgot to say earlier Happy birthday to your mom. Hope she is feeling better now that she has recouped from the trip to that awful place!

Nite everyone!

and a happy birthday to mic's mom from me too........

sorry, i'm late

sweet sleep
