did you create a new thread like chicago part 2 for the group?
i did for the test thread last night before the boards went down as i knew test would be hit.

my other threads are back up now.

haven't checked out anything but 2 threads since i came home from work.
i need to see what is happening with chgoland homies thread.

Yes, I did start a new one, and it's called Calling all Chicago DISers #2. I did it early this morning - you know me, I'm up at the crack of dawn (actually I'm up even earlier than dawn ).

ooooh, fresh meat hi yinz guys/gals!

spent most of day with abu again from Dell kept telling them issue was related to pictures; turns out both my internal video drivers & the extra oomphy ATI Raedon card for gaming were flawed...2-1/2 hours on the phone with this guy ; he got to hear me whine - alot.

must've had some effect, a supervisor called me back later in afternoon; missed it...was bumping carts with bozos @ WM, we've got snow coming evidently. They got outta my when i started to cough. Got a trunk full of groceries, yet too beat to cook.,..micky d's i suppose

bob - no worries on the test i'm sure. DH gets yanked several times/year since he drives truck; one guy always starting complaining that he had 2 poppy seed bagels that am before work...evidently, same marker as something poppy based

pam - hooray for dave, hope it works out

mic - what are u up to on the bike? I bought a replacement blender today @ JCPennys (on sale ); breaking out the slimfast next week.

ocm - did nico get to see snow last week (i'm thinking it was on his wish list)? Oldest DS flew in ATL and hit some weird weather.

mac - dh gives me most of the tax check & sez "make it so"; only problem the trips have gotten more elaborate & he expects fireworks everytime...he had to pony up some $ last trip, thought he'd have a fit. I've laid out the budget for this year, he turned pale. I keep telling him he has no idea how much money i'm saving him

Evening all...nice to not wait 10 hrs. for a page to load

KS, I usually do no less then 10 miles per night, I got back on the other night after awhile and did another 10, so that was 20 one evening, but I like 10 and try to do 15 on Sat/Sun. I meant to tell you but couldn't get on to post the other day, I've shopped at drugstore.com for some time. Just when I feel lazy and I always have a couple drugstore $$ I've earned to use. You get free ship w/$49...heck that is nothing to spend on some of the items they sell. I drink the Slim Fast low carb chocolate drink. Not everyday, but take it a couple times a week for breakfast. It isn't the best nor worst tasting stuff, but it is filling. Let me know how your stuff tastes. Men, they never realize how much we spend....I mean save everytime we shop Don't ya hate when you get sent to India for customer service? I will say it......I DO...drives me batty. I even got sent there one time with Delta air I finally said get me someone who can speak English, I cannot understand you and I'm tired of saying 'huh' after everything you say to me

as for shopping, def. think i'm going the drugstore dot com route in the future not sure if the delivery time was extraoridinary or not, cannot believe how quickly it came. sometimes there's stuff you really don't want to buy when you know the clerk.

ks--don't you hate being on hold forever!!!! I got a phone call when the parents were showing up to pick up their kids and was on hold what seemed like FOREVER. Seems that someone got ahold of my credit card number and tried to use it today good thing they caught it and called and asked if i made these transactions. In all it was about $500

Thanks for all the well wishes! I am sure Dave will do fine. I am liking it because that means he can start helping get the kids ready for school and take them to school for me

Welcome to all the newbies.

The gym was great!! I got so caught up in the class, I almost forgot to leave early to take Samantha to school. I don't think the teacher appreciated the "Oh SH..." I let out after looking at the clock. It was ok, the rest of the class laughed.

Loribell - you can decide if Mac or I gives the test. Mac swears she gives the easier test.

Sorry I didn't make it back earlier. Saw you gave a test. But I also see that Barb has not taken one yet!

You passed. Now mac has to come up with tests for bubba'sMom. We shorten names around here..but I can't shorten hers to BM..it doesnt look right. We'll just stick with Barb

We have one on our other thread that shorten's to MF. She does get called BM occassionally. I think it is MF that calls her BM.

Oh., I forgot to tell you all..I am not teaching next year. They wanted me to teach the toddlers and I LOVE what I do. If I could have any job, it would be teaching preschool.

The problem is..I hate working. It cuts into my day too much, I don't get to the gym, really the list goes on and on.

Give me credit though..I did try it for a year. There are a lot of people that hate being SAH parents. I'm not one of them.

I actually don't know how I ever worked normal job. My life is very busy being at home.

That picture in my signature is my oldest when she was 6 - she's 9 now.
My youngest DD is 4

My daughter just turned 9. She also did the Grand Adventures when she was 6. She loved it!

Whew. That was my first test in... let's just say a long time and leave it at that.



Good luck on the new job. I'd love to find a part-time job out of the house, but until the youngest starts school it wouldn't make sense for us. We'd pay more in childcare than I could earn part-time. I am technically on the payroll of our business, but I do the bookkeeping at home when the kids are sleeping, so I don't think many people would consider that "working".

I would like to talk to the people that don't think it is work. And how in the world can you think you don't work. I know how busy you are.

My girls are very close, and I'm very happ for that too
In fact, last night my 9yr old lost her tooth, and naturally put it under the tooth for the toothfairy. This morning, when my 4yr old woke up, she found a quarter under her pillow, and my 9yr old said it was from the tooth fairy so she wouldn't feel left out I asked my 9yr old if she did that, and she said she did What a nice sister she is!!

I am off to the gym, but I thought I would jump on and say Happy Sat. (since it has been a while that I have found weekend time to post.) Step class today.

Ed - I am not sure of the dates. Early to mid July I think. I laugh that he brings him up every few months. I can't believe he remembers him. Let me know if you guys may be around.


Barb - you can take Metros test. He failed. Which two presidents are buried in Arlington National Cemetary? And which president never attend one day of school?


For everyone - please check your calendars and let us know if July 24-27th you are free. Or the weekend prior to that. We are thinking of trying to get a meet together and that seems to be a good time for a few of us. But we want to pick a time when the most people can go. Please just let us know if that time frame works.

It is a cool, dreary Saturday here. Looks like we'll be doing some grocery shopping later. I absolutely HATE to shop on Saturday. One of the benefits of not having a time clock to punch is that I can normally shop when not many others are. How I timed it badly this week, I have no idea, but the days got away from me and now... ugh... have to.

Lori - I think you are right about MF, but I shorten him to Fletch. I just can't do MF. It just seems... wrong.

Barb/braB didn't TAKE HER TEST before she left! I'm telling!

I know the anwer to the presidents in Arlington. Not sure about the president that never attended school. I have a guess, but I'm not sure. I know lots of presidential trivia. I used to play Team Trivia at a bar... er... at a restaurant & tavern establishment once a week. We used to win enough house cash to cover most of our tab.

Since someone mentioned the gym, I suppose I should go crawl into some sweat pants and do my workout. Maybe I could do it in my pjs? Nope. I have to have on a bra... and socks and cross trainers. Might as well get dressed. Can you feel the enthusiasm?

I have to work today, well, every Saturday, because I own a custom picture frame store, and I don't have a large staff. My staff consists of me and my 16yr old employee that is still training, so this is why I need to work on Saturdays. My business is not even a year old yet, and I look forward to the day that I have more business, so I can hire more people. Once all those people are trained, than I won't have to work Saturday's anymore

We are heading to Lincoln today to go to the eye doctor before our insurance is gone Wish Noah was able to get contacts today but we have to wait till March for that on our insurance plan.

I hate grocery shopping period!!! I love to shop...just not for groceries I am sure I will have to go sometime between now and monday.

The meet you ask? We were kinda thinking about trying to hit disney. I hope a lot of us can make it.


Well, i'm off to go get my oil changed in my car. Maybe i should test the shocks while i'm at it....ed where are you?!?!?

ocm - I am in the process of planning our trip now. Need to get those ressies made, of coure that means I gotta decide where to stay. We are planning to arrive in Orlando July 10th. I am still working on how long we will be staying but I think we will be there until the 28th or so.

MF does seem wrong but he said it was okay so I do it.
