TEST (part 2)

Tricia - do you want to do my house too? I don't often randomly clean..because I dont often clean.

Bob - I agree about the Catholic parties. Infact, my brother is getting married in Oct. Mass wedding on Sat with about 350 guests. Then the reception, then the after wedding/reception party at my aunts house for the closer 350 guests. Then, brunch the next morning for the out of town family members and close guests (as well as in town family because lets face it, you can't invite this family without inviting that family) Oh this is after the "prior to the wedding parties" rehearsal dinner on Thursday and (I have no idea what they are calling the Friday dinner party).

I think his wedding is going to be a week event.:lmao:

I am really hoping that my future SIL picks out clearence first communion dresses. I did that for my flower girls and they were perfect. and only $25:thumbsup2

Slo - have fun shopping for the dress. I loved mine because it was made to order. And I think I had about 150 people at my 1st communion party.

We just found out the date for my 9yr olds first communion, and it's April 26th. I can't believe it - my baby is making her first communion :sad1: :) (2 smilies for that one). So I'm starting to make some arrangements, and I can't get over how much this day is going to cost us, but I keep telling myself it's a once in a lifetime event for her, and I want it to be super special!!!!:goodvibes

My son will be having his First Communion on May 3rd. I'm Irish Catholic and DW is Italian Catholic so we've got the partying covered.

home from skool and looks like we are talking about parties.....

adult....kiddos........all the same thing.
lots of people and food and fun get together.

trying to decide what to fix for dinner.

i'm not catholic...but i like to party:cool1: what does that say about me?!?!:confused3

We don't have first Communion but we have confirmation. Trent is actually starting classes for that this saturday. I grew up Luthern and now am Methodist. Growing up I had to do 3 years of classes one night a week...trent is doing 6 classes and he will be done:confused3
Then we will have a party for him too.

Well, we got our cruise all booked and the deposits made:cheer2:

Have a good evening everyone!

::yes:: First Communion usually involved a party of some type, often something at the child's home. We Catholics love our parties. ;)

amen:thumbsup2

1st communion is a very big deal to RCs. I always had the partee @ home, the Colonel did the chicken-rest i cooked/froze etc. for weeks.

i'm glad my youngest made his confirmation last year (and we're done with ceremonies until next gets married---preferably NOT anytime soon) Confirmation was an ordeal to get all the planets to line up properly:worship: whew, lord knows i vented enough here about the drama (shamefully as i recall lol). I was so wiped out & it was on a Tuesday night:confused3 ; we just went out to eat early enough beforehand. Didn't have to worry about ban on eating 1 hour before communion, as they now don't celebrate mass during it in our diociese.

welcome home bob! sorry 'bout the bug

tony - i'm not jealous, i'm not jealous, etc...if i say it enough i might believe it.:upsidedow bought 50# of rock salt along with the last of the chicken wings @ sams for game on Sunday. Just got done putting the turkey i baked in the fridge to cool (if DS aren't hogs, we should get 2 days of feating on that bad boy)...bring on that weather baby!!!

pam hows the foot doing? i shudder to think of you navigating ice:wizard:

Evening all....

welcome back Bob and glad you had a good time, although a bit under the weather... we missed ya

all the parties and weddings sound like fun, keep us posted!

Pam, details girl, details...tell us what you've got lined up for the cruise.

Spoke to my CM friend, can get a pretty good deal on a 10 day hopper w/no exp....which I might invest in, and keep the extra days for another trip, will be that much ahead and if prices go up, I'm set :cool1: Buying that one saves $20 per day over even getting the 5 day hopper w/no exp. I'm still thinking on it all, but I'm sure I'll have her get whatever it is we decide on.

Very busy this afternoon at work, which was nice, the afternoon sped by :cool1:

Calling for freezing precip in the morning, so will wait to arise to see whether I venture out on time or wait a bit...will not risk driving on ice to get to work...I have to travel a lot of ups and downs to get there, up one side of a mountain road and then back down with twists and turns on it.

I seem to recall there being some mention of the drama surrounding your son's confirmation. Maybe a time or two... or three. Including the standby sponsor whom you had to treat to a thank you lunch after the fact, if I recall.

Remember the shock and fuss when I mentioned that the Priest at our Catholic Church is married? Whoosh.

The foot is okay. Had a bad day yesterday and lived on the med. they gave me but today I didn't take any as it really didn't hurt as bad. Thanks for asking!

Bob--did you hit any wormburners for me?!?! Glad you're back!

okay, i guess we decided on a 4 day cruise out of Miami. We are going to be stopping at CocoCay, Nassau, and Key West. We are going Jan. 12th for my mom and dad's 45th wedding ann. I guess if we like it then we will take the kids and hit a longer cruise next time.

That is really cool about the non-exp. tickets!!:cool1: Does that mean that you will get to do our meet with us?!;)

Hey everyone, I'm here and alive! Have a great weekend!

:wave2: Hey all :)

Back in town yesterday afternoon. Good trip, lots of fun, tons of good (and bad) golf. Not much drinking (for me at least ;) ) since I was battling some sort of stomach bug during most of the trip. :scared:

...going back a few pages and catching up...

My son does tae kwon do too. :thumbsup2 He'll be testing for his Black Belt in April and we're off to Pittsburgh this weekend for another tournament. :thumbsup2

That's a shame to feel icky on vacation....you can feel that way at home for free..... :sad2:

Is your son a member of the American TaeKwonDo Assoc.? Bubba is....He was 9 on Jan. 20th, and received his first degree blackbelt in Sept. 2006. Sept of this year ('08), he will test for his 2nd degree blackbelt in TKD. Just a couple weeks ago, he was asked to join the SWAT team at karate (TKD). Basically, this means he is assisting the instructor, running the warmups, helping hold pads, etc.... Basically the first step to becoming an instructor. You may not ask to join, but rather you are asked.... So, he is committed to at least helping out with 1 class a week and monthly meetings....on top of his 3 he takes himself.

(Since Tricia tried to explain for me so graciously, thought I'd help her out ;) )

Gettin' ready to turn in....catch everyone later!

I've never lived anywhere else. I was born in Atlanta, raised in the suburbs, moved around the metro area, then finally way up here in the boonies... but my home has always been in Georgia somewhere.

My sister used to live in Lawrenceville. It took a little over an hour to drive there. Not far at all, by my standards.

Yeah, and Lori, did you hear that was another thumbs up for the weather down here? So, when are you moving... :rolleyes1
N

Well, I will be there as soon as I can possibly get away from here. The kids are ready. Oh, and we got snow today. :headache:

Mac - He's my hero too.

Bob - Glad your trip was good. Sorry you were a sickie too.

Pam - Glad you got the cruise booked.

Hi to everyone. Had major computer problems today. Still not all worked out. I am about ready to throw this thing across the room.

Nite all! Have a great Friday!

it is morning time again........

time to get out of bed and shovel before you go to work.

i'm about ready to leave for skool.......

hey, where's tony? i'm sure he didn't get snow....

I am TRYING to decide which shorts to wear today.....It's too warm for long pants or jeans. :rolleyes1

For the rest of you....

WAKE UP AND THAW OUT !!

I can try to shovel the rain, Mac, but I think it'll just make a bigger mess... :confused3

Can I hate you now? ;)

My in laws called from their place in Florida (Orlando suburbs) and were complaining about how hot it was. I think the only reason they call us from Florida is to gloat about the weather. We're in the 40s here today, wet and messy, but not too cold.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Yep, he's ATA. He's 7 -- started as a Tiny Tiger when he was 4. He got his Black Belt Recommended in December and his 1st Degree Test is in April. :thumbsup2

He signed up for Leadership (SWAT) back in December. His contract was expiring, so we decided he was ready for Leadership. He loves helping out with classes (it's cute, because often the kids he's helping out are 12 or 13 and tower over him :goodvibes ) and loves the other things that the group does, like demonstrations at nursing homes and helping out families in need in the school. We do, however, tend to live at the school these days, with the 2-3 red belt classes, a Leadership class and helping out teach one class every week. And when our youngest gets old enough to join Tiny Tigers, it'll get that much worse.

You keep it up and you are going to have a bunch of company coming to visit.
