Terrorist attacks...here?!

I'm sure everyone's heard about what happened...I'm gonna put a little timeline of events I found on aol news

Plane crashes into tower of World Trade Center in lower Manhattan, shortly before 9 a-m Eastern.

Second plane crashes into the second tower of the World Trade Center, shortly after 9 a-m Eastern.

An aircraft crashes near Pentagon, just outside of Washington D-C, in Northern Virginia, about an hour after the attacks in New York.

Government buildings in Washington, including the Capitol and the White House, are evacuated with officials citing a credible threat of a terrorist attack.

The Federal Aviation Administration shuts down all aircraft takeoffs nationwide.

Shortly after 10 a-m Eastern, one World Trade Center tower in New York collapses, about an hour after being hit by plane.

American Airlines says one of the planes that crashed into the Trade Center was American Airlines Flight 11, hijacked after takeoff from Boston en route to Los Angeles.

Senior law enforcement officials say car bomb explodes outside of State Department in Washington, D-C. Federal protective services later denies car bomb attack occurred.

Financial markets suspend trading in the wake of the attacks.

Officials at Somerset County Airport say a large plane crashes in western Pennsylvania, about 80 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, at about 10:00 a-m.

The second tower of the World Trade Center collapses at 10:28 a-m Eastern.

Fourth explosion rocks the collapsed remains of the World Trade Center, at about 10:38 a-m.

We are all teriffied in our school!!! We live in Delaware and live very close to Washington and New York. We go dissmised at 1:02. Many dissmisals. Alot of kids parants work in New York. When I got home I heard a plane but could not see it... hopefully it was a millitary jet...I hope. We had alot of police man at our school. Our teachers held us in there room all day cause to switch classes we have to go outside. Kept america in your prayers!!!

omg this is soo sad!!!

i found out at school-we usually have assembly at 10 anyway, so they told us then. after that, we listened to the radio for awhile, then went into our 'adivosory' groups- then i had geometry, but we watched the TV about the towers instead- THAT was scary- omg those pictures!!

then i watched the TV for the next two periods- latin and lunch- got to see like ALL of the news- then b/c our after school sports are cancelled, here am i- home 3 hours early!

this is SO frightening- i couldn't even believe it when i heard- just sounds like a movie and looks like the scenes from independence day....

also, b/c i live just a couple hours from new york and washington, a lot of my friends have family members in both cities- i just keep hoping they're all all right!!

I was in shock when I heard about it at school! And since I live about 20 minutes away from NYC, I probably have a lot of people in my school that have parents that work there. I know in some of my classes people were crying because they didn't know if their parents were ok. I felt so bad for them because that must be a horrible feeling, not knowing if your family members are ok!

Well i'm in MA and am terrified cuz Boston was involved and the air force 20 minutes from my house is on high alert and my friend has air patrol and is trying to get on the base to help and i have friends who are either in DC or NY....we don't know which as of yet.

I heard about it at school when we wnt into reading class. All of the sudden, i hear that Ny has been bombed. Almost everyone i know knows someone in Ny and they were to worried. It was total chaos!! One of my very close friend's family lives in Ny. iI mean ALL of her family besieds her brother, her sister, and her mom and her dad. What happened to our country was a total tredgety(sp?). Any people who has family and/or firends in Ny, i will keep you in my prayers.

We watched the news during everyone of my classes on like every news station there is. First of all we were all really shocked, and second, a guy in our class is in DC right now on vacation. I really hope everything's ok with him.

The Government released just now that about 800 people are presumed dead at the Pentagon today because of the tragic crash and some survivors were found at the World Trade Center building.

It was awful,

I was in a music lesson and someone came in and told the lecturer what had happened. He put the news on so we could see what was happening. No-one talked or made jokes, but when they showed the video of the second plane crashing, everyone just started talking about it like it was a film. I don't like the way a lot of people are being very voyeuristic with this, treating it just like a movie or something. Perhaps it just hasn't sunk in to everyone yet that thousands of people have died, and this could be the start of WW3.

In the newspaper today, there was a picture of one of the towers on fire, with a man jumping off. He looked so tiny and helpless. I think that image will stay in my mind for the rest of my life.

Today, 9/12, I was going from the school's outside trailers to inside when I heard gun shots. guess what it ended up being a memorial serves next door at the barial grounds. Our school is next to a barial home. When we heard the shots we all ducked on the ground... I was terrified. As you know I live in DE right smak in the middle of the attacks on 9/11.

* 266 people are presumed dead on the planes that crashed
* 40,000 were presumed to be in the World Trade Center
* 200 firemen and policemen are presumed dead
* Baseball Games are canceled for today and Thursday
* The Emmys has been postponed indefinitely
* The Latin Grammys have been canceled
* Tower 1, 2, 3, & 7 have collapsed
* They expect all towers in World Tower Plaza to collapse by the end of the week
* NATO has declared this not an act against the U.S but an act of war.
* "This will not stand!" accourding to President Bush
* The White House and Air Force One were targets
* some people have been taken into questioning

All the countries involved with NATO are behind us on this. Russia even offered to send help to Washington D.C. and New York!

This is a really scary thing. It's the first attack on continental US territory since the Civil War. My friends and I were freaked out all of yesterday. I was really worried about anyone that I know on here and a few other people. I was also worried about my relatives in Chicago since everyone kept saying that's where they were going to hit next. I had just walked into my English class when I heard. My English teacher had the tv on and we all sat down and watched. This was after the towers had been hit. She tried to give us a test but stopped halfway through when the Pentagon was hit. In my math class we sat and watched tv and at lunch I went back to my English class to watch. In my Spanish class we did work and in Chemistry we watched the news. I just want to cry when I hear all the stories and see all the people looking for their loved ones in New York. The worst thing is when they run the victims lists on CNN and they show 2 year olds and 4 year olds on the planes. But I think it's awesome that we have almost every country in the world standing behind us. If anyone heard PM Blair's speech it was really kool. He said it wasn't an attack on America but on the whole free world and democracy. Sorry, I'm kind of getting into politics here but anyway... I want to say that my prayers and thoughts go out to anyone personally affected by the tragedy. And everyone put out your flags!
