Terri's Disigns

Hi - -these are beautiful! I've been looking at all the DISigns, and really enjoying them all. Here's a general question, tho, as I don't want to step on anyone's toes or cause problems anywhere -- is it ok to download the images and add my own personalization, and then use them? I don't think I could come up with these beautiful designs, but I like to play with the names, etc., and format them for the projects I want to put them on. Is this ok, or would the DISigners prefer that not to happen? Thank you so much!

Erin
We have placed alot of blanks on this thread so you can personalize. That helps us free up time to do other things. A lot of the other designers also have blanks in their shared accounts for this use. All that most ask is that you give credit to the designer of the design that you use and not call it your own. We have gotten inspiration from other designers and made our own designs and gave them full credit for the inspiration. The main thing to remember is that this is all done for free and that none of us own the copyrights to the characters, just bragging rights for the designs themselves. Hope this answers your question. :)

A sure sign is if a DISigner has blanks in their accounts/threads. For example, I have put a lot of the backgrounds that I have used up on my photo bucket account for people to play with. Howerver, there was someone who put a lot of time/effort into their DISigns and put their name accross them so no one but them could personalize it. And then there was someone else who took someones DISign, added their name and said look at the DISign I created. On the other hand, there have been people who posted pictures of their shirts and said this disigned developed the disign and I personalized it and everyone is fine with that. I find it is always polite to ask first, just in case you might step on toes.

& one more thing to add. Sometimes you will see a DISign you absolutely love. You know if give the time you could recreate it. I figure why reinvent the wheel :rolleyes1 If the DISign is what I am looking for and it's already done & it's going to be a pain to personalize it as the fonts might not match, I will ask the DISigner to do it for me.

& last but not least, if you see it, copy it and label who the DISigner is. There was a DISigner when this board first opened that made beautiful resort Mickey heads. I have spent hours trying to recreate them and with the help of a few people I have come close. Howerver, they are very time intensive. If I had of been smart I would have asked that DISigner for a copy of all of her resort heads and would have saved myself a lot of grief and work.:scared:
So to make a very long story short, it depends, just ask. LOL

Penny,
Thanks for clarifying my answer. I wasn't quite sure how to respond. We're still pretty new to this area of the boards and hopefully we haven't offended anyone. I just know that for a while we were overwhelmed and we put blanks out there so that people could customize the designs for themselves. Now, we're a little less stressed and have more time to help out. But you're right, it's best to always ask.

thank you so much

Please forgive us. We have taken a few days away from the thread and what little time was spent there we did not look around extensively. Sorry we missed your post. Thank you very much for posting this. I did not think I would like the design with the date and the saying moved off the skateboard, but now I see others may have a better way of looking at each others designs and tweaking them just a little. The shirt turned out great. I like the way you cut out around the wording. That just sets it off even more.

My son loves your hot wheels skateboad design, but he wants it on a yellow shirt! Do you think the yellow wording (first trip & 2009) will stand out enough (if cut out like the lady in the last post did) or would it be possible to change the color of the wording and the box around the character?
If you do change the color of the letters and box, would it be too much trouble to get Mickey with the blue skateboard? I found Mickey on the red board but DS likes blue one.
Thank you for your help in making my DS 1st trip special!:goodvibes
