Terrific upgrade!

I got a call from my Dad last night-they had just gotten to WDW the day beforehand. They'd booked a standard view BC room and when they checked in, they'd been upgraded-to YC concierge! Someone from BC walked them over to the YC concierge desk where they were checked in. They say they've got a beautiful room overlooking the boardwalk/dock area. Then after their first full day, they returned to their room to find flowers and a gift basket of champage and fruit. They're impressed with the concierge food offerings. From 11:00-4:00 is supposedly light offerings, which yesterday was lobster sandwiches and "lots of wine". In the evening are desserts and after dinner cordials. They went to the WS, and in America, the CM saw them (they're wearing anniversary buttons for 60 years), called so that Mickey and Minnie could wish them happy anniversary, then took them to the Liberty Inn, where he announced to all "Hear ye, hear ye" so everyone could clap for the anniversary. Then they gave each of my parents a free apple pie. Wow, Disney certainly works its magic sometimes!

i agree 60 years is worth that kind of extra pixie dust!!! we went last november for my sister's 40th bday. while wearing her bday button the cm's behind the counter at cosmic rays burst out singing happy birthday and then when we were in the big/long shop on main street mk (the ones that connect inside to each other almost the whole length of main st) while we were standing in checkout line a cm announced loudly it was her bday and everyone in the store sang. it was super fun for us and not expected. pixie dust is in the most unexpected places sometimes .
