Terrible Stay at Contemporary resort

... That seems a bit excessive to ask. Obviously they can't leave you in a ride vehicle but to expect them to do that every time she wanted to ride when you should have had someone in your party to help with that is bizarre to me.

As harsh as it sounds...I suspect WDW could actually ban the guest from rides/attractions or even the park if the guest knows he/she doesn't have assistance and still gets on a ride. The printed policy clearly indicates:

Transfers
Some attractions require Guests to transfer from
their wheelchairs to the ride. Cast Members are not
permitted to physically lift Guests in the transfer.

In a way it made me feel bad every time we had to wait for management, or even some big strong guy that's a park guest to help lift Lorrie out. A few times I wanted to ignore all of my medical problems as I am 5ft., 5inches tall when standing, and lift Lorrie out myself since she's fairly shorter than me.[/QUOTE]

I'm shocked that this happened every time your friend needed to transfer!
I really don't think its right that you did not travel with somebody that could do the lifting, expecting somebody else to do it is beyond unreasonable!
What if the " big strong guy" was to fall sprain his hand, hurt his back etc that's his and probably his family's trip ruined!
My husband has helped people many times in varying situations, but I would not be happy with him doing this.

Dh just doesn't go on rides he can't get out of (very tall and bad back so tight places won't work).
