TERRIBLE Experience with Garden Grocer

Nothing was ever done to make my situation. In fact I didn't get anything evan an apology. My anniversary was not as special as it could have been if Garden Grocer had done their job. I can not recommend this company and am sorry to see that their poor customer service continues.

Didn't read all of the responses but wanted to chime in. We used GG in January and it was terrible!! Over 4 hours late and two of our guests were diabetic!! He kept calling saying "I'm on my way" etc. then it was traffic..it was one excuse after another. First and last time for GG, I'm renting a car and getting my own coldcuts in the future.

Edited to add: He did compensate by giving us 10% off at the time but it was too little too late. Noone wants to sit in their room when MK has extra magic hours :guilty:

This thread is very similar to the one for wegoshop from a while back. When wegoshop started everybody loved them and recommended them to everyone. Then at some point they were getting too many orders and deliveries were missed.
Then someone came along and suggested gardengrocer. Soon everybody was using gardengrocer. Now gardengrocer is getting too many orders and missing their scheduled delivery time.

I think the problem is that these delivery services only have a handfull of employees and they are not ready for the impact that the DIS will have on their business.

I saw the same thing happen with some of the new car service companies that were recommended on the transportation board.

Just my 2 cents.... :rolleyes1

Ok - i used garden grocer on July 7 - called them that day and changed my delivery time. They were still on time and delivered and put away everything. Gave them a tip and they said that they would deliver a second batch of any needed groceries later in the week at no charge. I didn't have to use it but I thought garden grocer was great.

One other thing...

I have used both wego shop and garden grocer. I had good service with both of them. :thumbsup2

We had more orders than we could do during that time, we had people working 20+ hours per day and still weren't able to keep up. We apologize for the inconvenience but don't remember your order specifically. We are extremely polite and professional to people who treat us that way as well, not so much to those who don't.

We will gladly delete your account so that all your information is gone from our system.

Thanks for printing this response, until reading this I was willing to give them "the beneift of the doubt" but this is unacceptable. First of all his and his employees work schedule is "NOT MY PROBLEM" and to mention it is just making excuses, secondly another quote " THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT"
whether they are rude or not, after waiting an extended time for your delivery you have a right to be PO'd,and maybe not to pleasant. It's up to a service provider to smooth things over if they expect to keep customers. Lastly if they were working 20+hours that means some customers were getting deliveries in the middle of the night, yet he seems to justify his rudness because they were rude. At this point there is not much he could say to get me to use his service, guess I'll be using wego shop this Jan.
As always this is just MHO

Well, this post inspired me to cancel my order and either use another service or stop at the grocery with 3 kids, and my in laws waiting in the car. I will not support this guy in his business if this is how he treats customers.

You sound ridiculous Brian. I am not comfortable with a person like you handling groceries for my family. (I'm sure I'm the one who is out of line now so I guess everyone can flame away). If you are going to sit and argue with a customer who paid extra for groceries just for your service to deliver them within a specific time frame, (which you did not do) you are not going to get my business or the business from anyone I know.

Good luck to you and may you have fun working on those "customer service skills" we Disney people expect when we are there on vacation.

I feel exactly the same way. This place will NEVER get a dime of my money, that sort of response is totally unacceptable by someone running a buisness.

I realize this is an older thread, but find it interesting that the same issues are still going on. We will be at BWV late october with an infant and had been thinking about using this service. Now I am not sure about it. I wonder if there are any companys that rate high marks out there?

I'm sure for as many people who report a problem with any of these companies there's 5-10 who have had no problems. We used them once and were very happy with our service. As with everything people have different expectations and some are met and some unfortunately are not. The only sure way to get exactly what you want when you want it is to do the shopping yourself.

I would have to agree that some of these services are obviously over booking themselves and that seems to be where the frustration comes from. Good customer service is expected and if it were my business and I read some of the reports given on this board I would pay more attention to it. Good luck with your choice and if you choose a delivery service here's hoping it all works out.

Hey at least Brian is using this as a learning tool.

1. He is limiting the amount of work he is willing to take in based on how much he can handle. GOOD THING

Edit: Never mind..."suckered in" by a thread bump to a 1yr old thread. :)

Funny, I remember reading this when it originally started and it did have a large impact on my decision to have groceries delivered.

last year, I was dealing with an injury and and used PeaPod here at home (Stop and SHop) and while most of the time I seemed to always get stuck at the tail end of my window, I did once have it come more than an hour after my window, I called and customer service said they dont garauntee to arrive during the window. It was the tail end of my needing PeaPod and I do prefer to go, get it over with, and haul it back myself- I figure it takes me about 2 hours from start to finish (leaving house, shopping, and unpacking) thats less than the window I would have to wait.

So even the big stores have issues. But this guy was just rude and it made a large impact on me. I appreciate DISers sharing their experiences.

Actually things haven't changed. Garden Grocer still has absolutely lousy customer service and they could care less about their customers.

Yeah, but my comment was something along the lines of:

"Hey, I remember this happening last year where they said they had booked too much business and were having issues".

Which wasn't really pertinent because the post I was actually remembering was...this one. :)
