Can someone please explain to me how park hopper passes work with FP and FP+, etc.? (We are Fla residents)

I just booked a room at the Doubletree for 4 nights. We'll have 3 full days for the parks. The Doubletree had a promotion where you could get 2 adult park hopper passes included in the price - which I took advantage of. We will still need to get one more ticket as there are 3 of us traveling. Should I get this 3rd ticket ahead of time? Wait until we get to the resort? Will the two I purchased with the room be sent to us? Will I be able to book any fast passes ahead of time? Will I need to somehow link the third ticket to the other two? Will we get the wristband thingees?

Please don't use too many abbreviations in responses. It's been a long time since I've been to Disney World.

As of now you can not use FP+ in more than one park per day. You have to have tickets linked to each person in your My Disney Experience (MDX) account in order to set up FP+ for them, so if you want to do that in advance you will need to buy them ahead of time and link them. If you have 2 people with ticket media and 1 without, you can book for the 2 that have tickets starting 30 days in advance, but you won't have the option to select anything for the other person until they have a linked ticket.

You will be able to use the Magic Bands (MB, aka "wristband thingees"), but you will have to purchase them in the park, and they won't have your name on the back. They're about $13 each, and you don't *HAVE* to have them, your ticket card will work for park entry and FP+ usage, but you can get them if you choose.

3 rd ticket ahead? Yes, so you can link everyone together in My Disney Experience and book your fast passes 30 days out.
Don't know about the ticket from Doubletree. Best to ask them. How much did you pay for the room per night? Is this the Dontown Disney Doubletree or a different one?
Yes, you can book fast passes 30 days out.
No, you won't get magic bands unless the doubletree had made a special arrangement. I think you can order them but you'd have to pay for them.

This is not true now. You may park hop and get FP+ at the other park, although you do have to use your initial three at the one park. So, if you go to MK in the morning and schedule and use your first three FP+s, you may go to Epcot and schedule another. However, you have to go to Epcot first and you can only schedule one at a time.

You will need to get all three tickets linked to your My Disney Experience account so that you can make FP+ choices for everyone in your party.

We are Hilton Honors members and can get some valuable points for our next vacation staying at the DT in DTD (look at me using abbreviations now! ) The cost was $304/night for a 2 room suite with a king bed and queen pull-out sofa. It included 2 adult park-hopper passes. I will call the hotel to see how we can arrange to get them ahead of time and purchase a third ticket so that we can arrange out FP 30 days out.

How does one go about linking tickets and arranging FPs?

I greatly appreciate the help.

It included 2 adult park-hopper passes. I will call the hotel to see how we can arrange to get them ahead of time and purchase a third ticket so that we can arrange out FP 30 days out.

How does one go about linking tickets and arranging FPs?

I greatly appreciate the help.

1. Create an account at the Disney World Website.
2. When you have your tickets, go to "My Disney Experience" at the top of the webpage, on the far right and click on it.
3. Click on "My Tickets and Reservations".
4. Scroll down a little ways and you'll see the place where your ticket information should go. Click on link tickets and they'll ask you for the numbers.
5. The others in your party need to make an account too and then you need to find them and assign them tickets.
6. At 30 days out, you can go to the spot just below "My Tickets and Reservations" to "Fast Pass+". Click on that and maneuver to your dates.
7. Pick the parks you want to visit on a specific day and start making your choices.

You need to go to the Disney World web site and create a "My Disney Experience" account and go from there. There is also an app you can download to smartphones and tablets. From there you can add family & friends and link tickets that have been activated with the ticket number or confirmation number. Once you have done that, you will be able to book Fast Pass + selections 30 days out from each date. You will need to have all three tickets paid for (you can add the third through the website once you have your account set up) before you can add FP+ selections to the third ticket. The other two will need to be activated and you will need the ticket number or confirmation number. If you want Magic Bands you will have to pay for them, but you don't need to. The only thing they do that the cards can't is IF you purchase the photo package your ride photos are automatically added to your account with the MBs while with the cards you have to do it manually.

Side note, your post reminded me of a 3 night trip my wife and I took many years ago and stayed at the DT ourselves. Absolutely loved it. Heavily Disney themed, easy transportation and walking distance to DTD (Which helped when we had some adult evenings in Pleasure Island)

That's the thing you need to find out. Since they are included with your hotel package, I would be surprised if they sent them in advance.
