It's so nice to hear about wonderful AAA TA who go out of thier way to get you the best deal. Even proactively! I unfortunetly do NOT have one of those agents.

I emailed mine the day the Visa code was announced (she is a "certified SR Disney specialist"). Called the next day to confirm- she said she never got the message. Sent it again with delivery confirmation. My brother went to her office (there are 13 of us going)- again she claimed she didn't get it. He called her bluff about deliver conf. (email had been opened within minutes of sending). Suddenly she magically found it.

Then she claimed that we couldn't use during black out period. Our trip is Jan 15-22 at Pop. I came straight to the boards and found that indeed people were using it during those time frames. Called her again. By now several days have passed and public code is released. Now everything is full.

She won't lift a finger so I call the main AAA office in MN. All they do is file a complaint and route me back to our local branch manager. BM calls me and has been told by TA that the issue is really that I am trying to use the AAA code and the new code together!!! NO!!!!!

So now Branch Manager is going to assits TA. Fri, Sat, Sun pass with no word. I call again Monday AM. Receive a call back several hours later from Branch Manager....can't use code during black out! And she tries to down play the amount of money we will really be saving $45 asking if it's really worth it?!

Now I am steaming. Both my brother and I immediately call Disney directly and are able to hold packages for the exact same dates (small change from Pop to ASMovies)...WITH THE CODE!!! And Disney is quoting me an even cheaper price than what AAA is telling me I would get!!!

I called her back and she just can't believe it...yah right. She is again calling her source at Disney and is suppose to get back at me. That was noon yesterday.

This is the third trip to Disney I have booked in 3 years with AAA (same for brothers family). I have refered 5 familes to them who also booked trips. This is what I get??? I am doing their job for them and they are getting a commision? :headache:

Any suggestions?

Dang sorry to hear about this.

I say FIRST-book it yourself with Disney. THEN cancel your reservations with them. Put your reasons in writing (a letter not email) explaining exactly WHY you cancelled with a copy for both the TA and the supervisor. That's what I'd do.

You AAA TA can make or break a trip as you have seen. I went in my local office to use the general package code last week and my regular girl wasn't there. She is leaving this week. The others aren't nearly as good. I will use Dreams Unlimited from now on.

By the way, guess where my TA is going...Disney World. She's moving to Orlando and working for the big boys. That is how good she was. After talking to her on the phone, they recruted her.

I had a similiar experience w/ our AAA TA when they released the discounts for December.

I called her the day before the public codes were released and told her that I wanted to make sure she was aware of it..and that I wanted her to aggressively get it for us. She assured me that she would be on the phone at 7am.

I left a message for her at 8am and never heard back from her. My 8am message specifically said please call me on my cell, I'm at work.

I called about 10 more times that morning, finally going to the operator. Yes, TA was in the office but very busy w/ a client, she'll call you back...gave my cell number.

Called ALL afternoon...nothing.

Called into the evening and finally called a general AAA number that punched me through to a random AAA TA. She was able to tell me that I should be paying $300 less for our trip, but she couldn't help me as she wasn't our TA. She was pretty shocked at how I had heard nothing from her all day.

Got home that night, she left a message at 1pm on our answering machine at home... that she couldn't get the discount for our resort but could get it for another one. I know people got it for our resort so I'm even more ticked now.

Next morning I FINALLY get a call from her on my cell. She tells me that our resort "isn't part of the discount"...not that the discounts were all booked for it but that it never had any discounts available for the ENTIRE fall! Totally not true! :sad2:

I was polite but got across how very upset I was about the situation. TA told me that she had a hard time getting through to WDW the previous day, the computer system was down (at WDW) and she was on hold w/ them for "hours." She said she would call her WDW contact that morning and "see what I can do for you."

TA called back 30min later. She was able to get us the discount at our resort. I was thankful that she did so, but I'm not using them again. The AAA discount just isn't worth the aggravation. I have a trip for dd and I booked w/ Dreams Unlimited for July. I'll see how they work out.

All our AAA TA did was call WDW and book our package...that is it... nothing else. I made all the ADRs, did our flights and planned our itinerary. Again, it just isn't worth the aggravation to use them.

Oh I should add... one week before we paid our final payment... she left AAA and we have a new TA there!

I would re-book with Disney on your own and cancel with her. Do it asap. Also check the special online, its the same as the visa code, and hopefully book it right online this morning and then go cancel.
