Terminal in Vancouver

Most of the blogs and reviews I've read have info on boarding procedures and experiences at PC. We will be boarding in Vancouver though, and from cruisett, it appears one other ship will be in port at the same time, the Norwegian Sun.

Are there any suggestions or tips about boarding in Vancouver? Someone mentioned that it takes a long time to get through customs and security esp if there is more than one ship docked, but once you reach the Disney desk, it goes much smoother? I'm a Canadian.

Do they still have the characters in the terminal in Vancouver?

How much earlier do we need to arrive at the terminal before the PAT in order to get through customs and security? If it doesn't take long, if we are early, will they let us board or do we still have to wait for our time?

Thanks!

It's a lot smaller there we queued up at 10.15 already a long line there.

There was one security line for all the ships then you go to USA border control, yes took a long time.

Post that there was a joint waiting area, the other ship to us started taking their people first, then DCL.

We went to the DCL checking in when requested, and then it's the same set up as PC with the check in booths and waiting area and converge area.

On our cruise we didn't see say characters rooming but I am sure normally there are.

For first security and border control add thirty minutes.

Your boarding cards are pre allocated, if your early you will have a higher birding card and do you may wait a while to get on.

There isn't a lot in the terminal so it's not worth getting there too early.

We got to the port early hoping to get a higher cat (none to be had) so we wandered lost for a bit while no one was sure where to send us. We were second in line once we found it and waited down by the drop off area until they let us through after clearing the disembarked cruisers. When they were able they took us through security in batches, we walked right though quickly then waited another long while before we could board but at least there were seats in the DCL waiting area! ;) There was a computer glitch so we did not start boarding until around 12:30 or so.

I did see characters set up next to a backdrop in the DCL area.
