*Teresa & Greg-7/1/12*Swan/Fultons/GF Marina-Epcot Character Fun-Updated*2/22*

Have you listened to any of the instrumental versions of Disney songs on the DFTW cd? Some of them are quite beautiful! Just some more input!

Ooooh that's a good list of music choices! I think Feed the Birds could be really beautiful. Even an instrumental version of it would be really nice. Ever since I found out that was Walt's favorite song I've had a new appreciation for it. :)

Only 60 days! Wow!

I did find a wonderful version of the instrumental feed the birds talk about awesome!

I *love* Concerning Hobbits. That would be my choice hands down.

I love it too

So many to choose from! But I do so love 'May It Be'. Or 'Concerning Hobbits'. :goodvibes

Hooray for more LOTR love

Concerning Hobbits for sure. But, a Narnia song could be awesome too!

MORE LOTR LOVE!

Teresa! Hey, sorry I have been MIA for so long. You have had some HUGE changes, all really good though. I'm late on this, but sorry for the groomsmen troubles. You are SO right, men sometimes lack a sense of urgency and don't understand how things need to be addressed quickly, especially regarding a wedding.

I missed the voting, however I like all of the jewelery selections, number 3 is my favorite though. Great idea to wear them all.

AND YOUR DRESSES!!!!! They are beautiful, you look stunning. Greg will be drooling over you. :lovestruc

I'll keep up with you from now on. xoxo. -Court-

Hey Court,
Welcome back! I am glad you are along for the ride it is getting close!

60 days! :scared1: time is flying by now...

I KNOW RIGHT! :)

Have you listened to any of the instrumental versions of Disney songs on the DFTW cd? Some of them are quite beautiful! Just some more input!

I have listened to them I just don't love a lot of them but I am buying the cd off iTunes just to have more time to listen to them on the way to work to see if any strike a cord with me. I think I just love a lot of movie music and I am going to have a hard time deciding. Well and ultimately greg has to decide...so that is another issue. Thank you for the suggesting I will go buy the CD now.

***In other news***

Today I checked to make sure our rooms at Old Key West are linked that we want to be close to each other or next to each other if possible. I also got magical express all set up and ready to go I had forgotten to do that.

I also was trying to get advice on the 4th of july at disney from the tips and strategies board. I decided to make some changes to our plans but also they reminded me that I needed to try and get a tomorrowland terrace ressie. So off I went to check.

Well I could not get one for the 3rd of July which was the advice I had gotten because on the 3rd they do the special 4th of July fireworks too. So I looked for the last day of our honeymoon so we could close out the trip in the Magic Kingdom with a good view for wishes and with yummy desserts. So I am very excited about this.

I can not wait to get to disney the wait is starting to be torture. I can not wait to marry greg I want to be his wife so much! I also want my 2 week disney honeymoon which will also be my vacation and school/life/work are wearing me out and i need a break.

Has anyone done the dessert party? What desserts do they serve?

Love you all! May the force be with you. Also tomorrow is may 4th which is star wars day May the 4th be with you! Celebrate!

Bridesmaids and Groomsmen are a PITA!

I lost my original maid of honor and now I have lost at least one bridesmaid. By the end of this week I will probably have lost another. When my one bridesmaid cancelled out I immediately went to my DISbride friend Faith (MrsDuck). She was already coming to the wedding and she has also graciously agreed to be a bridesmaid. It has been amazing because she knows all my plans and she is being so very helpful. I am very lucky to have a DISbride as a bridesmaid...I am not sure if I am the first one to do this but you can bet that it is going to be an amazing event.

****THANK YOU MRSDUCK FOR BEING KICK A@@*********

Now for my venting! Many of you have seen on Facebook the drama. It began with the bridal party blowing up in my face. However, life has not been kind and it grew from there. I am sure to most people I would be over-reacting but to you ladies...at least you can understand.

The majority of the people we have invited have declined. Which I guess I should not feel bad about because we will be saving money (a lot of money). For some reason it still hurts that they can't come or don't want to come. I know for most people it is financial but it does not make it suck any less. So far we are at 18 declined and I have a feeling that number will continue to rise.

In addition to that there has been major drama regarding my brother not being able to afford to come. He has a room paid for by greg with DVC points, park tickets paid for by me. All he had to come up with was air fare for him and his two sons. Well at first he was not coming and neither were the boys. Now my dad has taken the initiative and has paid for my brother and the 2 year old (ring bearer) and my mom is paying for the 11 year old (mini groomsman). So hooray right? well not exactly.

My brother and Luke (2) are coming down the day of our welcome event but will most likely miss it and they will miss the family dinner for that part of our family. Then they have to leave on the day after the wedding in the afternoon around 2:45pm which means they can come to the farewell breakfast but due to DME picking up 3 hours early I think it is they won't be able to go to the magic kingdom so I won't get to spend any time with my brother there and my 2 yr old nephew won't even get to see the castle. Which is a major bummer because we were watching Cars the other day and as it started we said to him " we get to go there soon" he said "where the castle?" i said "yes buddy" and he said "let's go now!"...breaks my heart :(:(:(:(:(:(

My 11 year old nephew Nathan will now be going down with Greg and I because it is cheaper so he is going to get to have a full experience 3 days in parks and stuff which is pretty awesome. He is staying on the day after the wedding and is not leaving until the next day with my mom so that is pretty cool.

Moving on......

*I have made an extensive list of DIY stuff...so much to do

*I am starting the super detailed final planning with Diana (my planner)

*Greg and I are contemplating canceling the cocktail hour. With such low numbers I feel like it will be a waste of approximately $800. Most of the people coming are family so if they will be taking pictures with us post ceremony there will not be many people at Fulton's and it will just go to waste. I am thinking we can just send people over in waves as pictures are done they can sign the guest book, find their seat, listen to music and maybe our videographer can do some personal interviews with people.

*We discussed the possibility of a character but I can not justify $900 for 30 min.

*My dad has agreed to also pay for the following three things. 1-my bridal portraits with randy chapman 2-my dress alterations 3-the transportation expenses to transport from OKW to the ceremony and from the Ceremony to DTD. So thank you super dad!

*on a side selfish note I hope people start to give us money for the wedding or give it us then...I would like the extra cash to spend on our honeymoon and maybe add another tour.

Ok that is all for now...i am trying to remember to breathe :faint::faint::faint:

Teresa

Teresa love! Sorry that you have to go through the crappy part of all this....I know it's tough when people can't afford to come or just don't come. Even if it's due to financial reasons, which is most likely the case, I know it still hurts your feelings. But at least your family will be there, and you and Greg are getting married in your fave place. I am sure a good amount of people will show up; 18 people declining isn't bad. Congrats on getting a DIY list done and working toward getting things finished. Don't worry, all things will work out in the end.

Ugh, I'm so sorry that a lot of people are having to decline. Even if it is financial you have every right to feel the way you do. I know for a fact I would feel the same. I guess the silver lining is that you will get to spend more time with the guests that can make it. As we all know, it's at Disney so your wedding will be FABULOUS regardless. :goodvibes

That's so cool that Faith is going to be a bridesmaid, though!!! It sounds like your wedding is already better off for it! I hope you can find things that help you destress in this SUPER stressful time. For me that would be working out/running, reading, and non wedding Disney things lol. Try to brush off the stressful things and just enjoy this special time. I know that's easier said than done!

Like I said before, FAITH ROCKS!!
 your wedding will be AMAZING regardless of the guests count

So glad I can be a part of the bridal party!!

I am so sorry about all of the drama. The wedding is going to awesome regardless. I totally understand why you feel bad about people not coming but remember that it's nothing to do with you!

Ugh, it's so sad Luke won't get to see the castle. :( But, like we talked about it he probably wouldn't remember too much anyways-- it's a good excuse for another trip with him! ;)

Your DIY list looks great! I definitely think you should cut the cocktail hour-- no need to spend $800 if you don't need to, IMO.

WOOHOO for your dad picking up a few tabs! That's awesome!

Hang in there girlie!

Hi sweetie and sorry that I have been out of the loop recently!!
I am so very sorry you are having so many issues with guests, bridal party etc. The up side of all this is, of course, that you now have the gorgeous Faith as a bridesmaid. How wonderful for both of you!!!! A shining example of how these boards and the wonderful people who frequent them can really work magic!!!
You must be so excited as your big day draws ever closer, and though you must be disappointed that it will be a smaller affair (guest wise) than you had planned, you know as well as I do, that it will be the most beautiful and special of days!!!
Much love and hugs sweetie

I totally understand how it feels to get the No's. I decided to only send invites to those I knew were a sure thing, or close to a sure thing. That's also why we are having the luau in July at home because the family does want to celebrate with us. I'm so glad Faith could help you out!

Hope you can check things off of your to do list quickly. I always seem to add two things for every one I check off.

Aww I'm sorry you hit a rough patch. One of the hardest aspect of a wedding is the people, and I don't think most people understand that going in.

Faith totally rocks! How much fun having a DISbride in your wedding party! :cool1:

I have to multi-quote so I don't forget to respond to anything...since I've become a drive-by poster and always forget to get on here.

I realize that this one area that I have never talked about before. So here is the story of my ring.

...

As we were taking pictures I told Randy that the ring I was wearing was not my engagement ring...and he said to us "it is now!" So here are some of those pictures.

TG165912-17-12.jpg

I was not planning on having pictures of my hands taken or I would have gotten my nails done. You can bet they will be done for the wedding.

...

Here is a computerized mock up of the ring:
Greg_Lutha_1.jpg

...

I love both of your rings!!
Slightly jealous of your pictures...I got my nails all prettified before doing engagement shots with Randy...but he didn't take any of my hand at all. :(

I'll just have to be sure to ask for them at the wedding.

Thanks :)

Preliminary Message: This post has nothing to do with the designer of my invitations. She was amazing and did a phenomenal job. I could not ask for more. What happened was simply an oversight by me and by her and she is in no way at fault.

Now for the story.....

It was Thursday evening and DF had just returned from Chicago. We went to meet my mom at Michael's to buy the adhesive to assemble the invitations for the wedding. We took a while to figure out which one to buy exactly and we settled on one that said permanent really big and extra strong hold. From there we went and got some burgers to give us energy to do this.

...

So while this wedding crisis may not be the same or even the magnitude that would cause other brides to freak out it did for me. I am still not 100% on the solution because I got the yoda stamps specifically to go with the postcard because of the wording on the flip side...see below:

delgado_rsvp_375x6_front.jpg

There is a yoda quote on the RSVP and I just thought I had designed it all so well with putting a yoda stamp on them too. I know the colors will go better with the celebrate stamp but you guys know how it is.

...

I hope you guys have a magical day!

Teresa

I can understand the minor details being a major issue. I flipped out over a little squiggly line under my name on our save the dates! I think I wrote about it in my planning journal after we got them.

Love the Yoda quote...such a cute touch!

Oh...and Thomas has a tattoo of the symbol you have in Mickey...Galactic Empire, I think? He got it on deployment...so I haven't even seen it yet. :rolleyes2

OMG i can't believe it has taken this long for me to find you! I am a complete Star wars nuts. my cat endor is staring at me RIGHT now to stop typing..... My other cat ZAM Wessell, the big bad bug hunter is asleep by the fire right now too....I keep admiring those Save the Dates! Your PJ is great. Your story is awesome! i wanted to see if you are going to SWW this year? I am w/o my DF this year.... I am also getting married the week AFTER the next celebration! i am trying to talk people into heading down early.......
May the force be with you teresa!
Your wedding plans are infused with midichlorians ;P
hahahahaah that doesn't even make sense!!!!!!!!

My kitty's name is Leia.

That's awesome that Faith will not only be there, but be part of it with you.

I understand the mixed feelings...saving money is great...but it sucks when so many people can't make it. :(

If you're selfish then so am I! I'm also looking forward to the potential cash gifts to come in...even though I've got a little longer to wait.

I don't know if I said this already, but wow you ring is incredible!

I think I am all caught up, so I hope it's okay if I catch up on commenting now:

Your invitations are probably my favorite of all time! Just perfect for your wedding.
I LOVE the idea of using Disney postcards as Thank You cards. What an awesome idea!

Your dresses are just beautiful.

It's so touching that Faith is stepping in and will be a bridesmaid at your wedding! She does so much for this community with the facebook group and everything else. :goodvibes

I might have missed someone replying to you asking about the dessert party at MK, but there are some awesome reviews on the restaurant review section. I will try to scrounge a link up for you!

Letting u know that I'm getting PUMPED for your Big day!!
I was thinking what should i wear to your wedding & realized i had a dress in the back of my closet i never used before, SCORE! :rotfl: That is a savings for me
Sorry for all the drama with your family
GETTING CLOSER :hyper: :woohoo:

I'm so happy I had the time to read your PJ from start to finish! Your ideas are awesome and I love the colors. I think we're leaning toward something similar. I love your ring with the purple stone! I can understand the frustration of some people who think it's ugly or unusual in a negative way. Cory proposed to me with a sapphire and I love it, but we've gotten the comments too. Some people can be so annoying and I'm sorry to hear you're having such trouble with guests, specifically your brother. At least the 11 year old will get to have a great Disney experience. I can't wait for an update. Your wedding is so close!

Well school finally broke for summer and I am actually getting to focus on the wedding. Which is probably a good thing considering that the wedding is 26 days away.

I have hit it hard when it comes to the DIY projects. When I was looking into my wedding projects I realized that maybe there were not so many things to do.

The first was the name cards: My mom and I decided we wanted to do little black paper boxes which we bought from Michaels. My mom got an idea from a benefit she was at to do little boxes with flowers glued to the top of them. So we searched the web and found flat backed daisies in different colors. We needed different colors because of the 3 different entrees being offered. So we have one color for each entree and one color of the kids. Inside of the box will be some sweet tarts with a medium sized wooden star sitting on top. That star has a disney character on it which tells them which table they should be sitting at.

Here are pictures:

Favors: This was easy to complete once I got the materials. They are black chinese food take out cartons with die cut Star Wars imperial logos glued to them. Inside of them is a lanyard with a name badge attached to it that says they are celebrating our wedding and the flip side describes pin trading. Also inside of the box are 2 paper envelopes that have one pin in each so that guests can trade with each other or at the parks.

Here are pictures:

Honeymoon window decor: I wanted to make something to have up in our windows on the honeymoon. So I used paper letters and die cut butterflies and made a just married banner with our wedding date.

Here are pictures:
IMG_1492.jpg

IMG_1493.jpg

Wedding Programs: I have decided to make wheel programs. They are hard to describe but basically you turn the top wheel on the first and through a view window you can view different information. They are not close to complete but I did make a mock up. The front side has all information about the wedding including the participants, music, facts about the couple and more. The backside has the order of the ceremony and a pocket for a letter to our guests from greg and i.

Here are pictures:

IMG_1478.jpg

Wedding advice mini guest books: We have one big guest books that guests can sign and then there are the mini ones I had made on mix book. These books are for the stages of marriage. Each book has a front page explaining the stage and the challenge of the stage and asks for advice from our guests to help us survive the stages.

I still have 3 projects to accomplish:

1. welcome folders all I need are the folders so I can put them all together

2. the unity chest- I have the chest and the wood burning pen. Now all I need to do is burn our initials and wedding date. Then I need to stain it.

3. I need to get the organza bags for the fruity pebble toss down to florida we will fill them when we are there.

I am confident all of this will be done soon since i am just at home all day!

Update 2 coming soon it will entail information regarding changes to wedding clothes and dress updates.

May the force be with you,

Teresa
