Tequila Bar in Mexico -Info Please?

This is on our 'To Do' list for March, can someone please give us an idea as to choices, prices and can a couple of healthy livers enjoy a sitting and resume a pleasant day in WS?

Well, I think any of the menus you find online are outdated. The food menu, at least, has been pared down considerably since the opening, and most, if not all, of the menus found around the Internet are from before the cuts.

But, to give you a brief description, the food you will find there is served pretty much tapas style. Small prices and small portions. More than what you would see or pay at the Food & Wine pavilions, but not by much. They have a solid list of specialty margaritas, which are very good, and an impressive list of assorted tequilas for tasting.

Like I said, the menu has changed since then, but this will give you a pretty good impression of what to expect in the way of items and variety there, as well as pricing.

Thanks, Pugmalion1, I didn't realize that food was an option, I thought it was a choice of several 'flights', if that's the term, of different tequilas for tasting.

Hi Bill,
I do enjoy the Tequila Bar in Mexico. However, the crowds can be overwhelming mostly after 4pm and especially heavy after 3pm on weekends during the Food and Wine Festival. I find the best time of day to visit if at all is between noon and 3pm and then during a week night on vacation I'll try to visit there to test the crowds in the evening and see how it goes.

The food menu has appetizer portions on it but I think they are quite tasty and fun to eat as you enjoy a drink. Their margaritas come in a variety of flavors and found them pretty good. I do enjoy any of the tequila flights. They also have a drink I get there but it is not on the menu that one of the bartenders made for me one time. It is their version of a bloody mary called a "Bloody Maria" and they make it with the Sangrita they serve with the Tequila Flights. It is a spicy, liquidy salsa if you will. If you like spice this bloody mary is the best one I've had anywhere and I really do crave it. Can't wait to go in two weeks! Yes!

Are there waiters who come around to the tables or do you order everything from the bartender?

Hi!This place has both a bar and tables as well.

If you would like you can walk right up to the bar and drink your drinks there but there are no bar stools there only standing.

If you are lucky enough to grab a table, you will receive waiter service.

There is a tequila tasting on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the festival between 12 and 1.

There's no seating available inside while this is going on, unless you have purchased admission to the tasting.

The bar remains open. A line forms outside. Only a certain number of persons will be allowed to approach the bar during this time.

Come back after 1 on Festival weekends if you want to sit inside.

It is true most of the menus located online are outdated. Food offerings and specialty margaritas have changed. The flights are pretty much the same.

I'm not a tequila person, but I've really enjoyed the flights here. I don't recall how much they cost, but they were not memorably priced, so it was neither surprisingly cheap nor shockingly expensive, just in line with normal WDW prices.

DH and I stumbled on this last year during Christmas. If you sit at a table, a server will take care of you. Otherwise, you can sit at the small bar.

The food is appetizer in size - we ended up trying a couple to go with our drinks.

As all who have mentioned, it's better to go earlier in the day (unless there's a F&W event going on). We visited mid afternoon and had no issues finding a table at that time

Thanks for all the info. Our last WDW visit was during F&W in 2009, we'll be going next March, this has been on our 'to do' list since then.

The menu Pug posted was from before the jalapeño margarita was created. As far as I know, it's still on the menu.

I had one on Friday.

DD and I stopped by in May. She had the Margarita flight, I had a Tequila flight. We shared a cheese & fruit dessert that was advertised on a table display. Neither of us were unable to continue our WS tour.
