Considering lunch at Teppanyaki. Is a PS usually required or is it easy to just walk in and be seated?

this restaurant is very popular! so i would recommend PS unless you want to wait. and even w/PS we have had to wait.:p

Thanks disney queen. I was hoping a PS wouldn't be necessary. I like to have a little flexibility, but I guess I will have to nail down a time.

Anyone else have experience with this restaurant?

All three of my children list Teppanyaki has their favorite Disney restaurant, so we go every trip. We're there in summer and need a ps -- you might not at some times of the year. Dh and I like it, too, so we always have a good meal and a good time.

I'd recommend getting a p.s here unless you are going at a very slow time of year. Since the seating is around the grills they have an exact amount of seats they try to fill which (in my experience at this and similar restaurants) makes seating a bit "trickier" for the staff. If you have a p.s. it might make it easier for them to plan the seating thus meaning less of a wait than if you walked in. Lunch there is a great choice. It's entertaining, and the food is very good. AND I confess I really get into well themed restaurants and I love walking up the stairs into the pagoda type building. :teeth:

This is one of our favorite restaurants and we eat there every time we come to WDW... quality food cooked in front of you and decent portions.. We always make a reservation as it tends to be crowded...I hope you get one of the fun chefs as they can make it quite a show, cutting and juggling the knives, salt, pepper..

The last time we went, the chef made a volcano out of onions and somehow poured something into the top and made it smoke.. it was so cool..

Thanks everyone for the great replies. We will definitely work this one in. I was a little concerned that my sons, 8 and 6, might not enjoy it (they're picky eaters), but it sounds as though they will be entertained here and they can always eat grilled chicken!

Thanks again!

This is one of our favorite places. We have done lunch without PS, but have always arrived shortly after they opened and been seated with little wait.

I would expect the steak or chicken would be well received by picky eaters. Our DD loved the rice and meat but wouldn't touch the veggies. Funny, she normally will, but not there. They also had a great fruit cup for dessert.

I'd recommend getting a PS. It was very busy for lunch both times we were there. It was delicious!

no PS just walked right in at 1:00.

We have a 3 year old and he loved his steak.

We loved everything we got. Very good portions for the price, this is a must do from now on for us.

This is one of my favorite places. We ate there in Aug. We have never made a PS until we got into Epcot. We usually made it as we walked into the park. Guest reservations are to the left of SE. When we were there in Aug we made them for 1:30 and had not problem.

Thanks. I like the idea of making the PS when we get to Epcot...allows for more flexibility. I think this is what we will try when we go in May.
