We have an ADR for Teppanyaki and are looking forward to it (so please don't share reasons not to eat here ;) ) but I was wondering what sort of "rules" they have on the dining plan. What is/isn't included for adults and children? Thanks!!

When we were there in Nov, no appetizer for the kids meals. Sushi was not allowed as an appetizer either. I am not aware of anything else

The 2 main changes in the fall were that the lobster combo was no longer considered a meal so it was not included, and as another poster said, they no longer allow the sushi as an appetizer.
We enjoyed our meal a great deal. Our server was warm and friendly, the chef was entertaining and the food was great. This is a restaurant we choose each trip.
Go and enjoy!!

We ate there on 12/6 (for the first time) using DP and LOVED it. Lobster is no longer on the menu, but I'm telling you, filet mignon is the way to go (DH ordered scallops and while they were wonderful, his mouth is already watering for next year's trip and his OWN plate of the filet mignon -- DS(7) helped himself quite a bit, too)! I had the ginger ice cream for dessert (two big thumbs up), and the miso soup to start (we all started with that -- DH had ginger cake and DS fell asleep and did not have dessert -- gosh, did we do too much that day?)

The only exclusion is the sushi. Otherwise, any appetizer, any entree, and any dessert is allowed. The kids' menu only offers chicken, but both my son and the other child eating at the table that night (you are seated in groups of 8) loved it. ANd if you really want to sushi, you can certainly pay separately for it -- you can use your TS credit for the miso soup which is so light and just wonderful.

I was sweating bullets about this meal. I, too, had read all the negative reviews and bad DP experiences here, but this meal was a highlight of our trip. We got absolutely no "attitude" from the CM serving us -- she clearly expected that people would be on the plan.

I think you are going to love this place (and, really, order the filet mignon!).

This was our favorite meal at wdw. I had the steak & shrimp-this was a full sirloin steak and a good amount of shrimp-it was delicious. We were all adults(3 teens) so I can't tell you about the kids. :wizard:

Just like other posters said, kids don't get appetizers, and lobster was not on the menu. Other than that, there were no restrictions when we went in Oct. enjoy, it is FABULOUS!!!

Can you pay a little extra for the lobster as an addon with the Dining Plan?

I would never bash Teppanyaki, it is one of our fave meals on property...although I think they are one of the restaurants that do not take the DDE card.

Same experience here. I was worried after reading reviews here. When the waitress took the order, I told her we were on the dining plan and she just said ok- like no big deal.

We got the salad as an appitizer and a scoop of ice cream as dessert.

I always get the chicken/shrimp combo.-- oh my gosh its sooo good!
I also love the mushrooms the grill.

Lobster is no longer offered on the menu. Sorry to have to tell you that!

Also, minor clarification -- kids' meal on 12/6 DID include the miso soup as an appetizer.
