Please tell me about Teppan Edo. Our dd really wants to go there during our up coming trip. However, I have not found many reviews for this restaurant. Please share the good, the bad & the ugly.

TIA

It's in our top 3 favorite restaurants in WDW. The food is fresh and cooked to order right in front of your table. Some chefs do a little show with their cooking utensils and the food, others don't seem to take the time to do it.

Either way, the food we've had here has always been wonderful, and it's a must do on every trip.:thumbsup2

If you've ever been to a Japanese steakhouse/Benihana it's very similar....We found the food to be excellent. The chef was very entertaining, especially for my kids. I felt like the service was a little rushed - get you in, feed you, get you out - but overall it was a great experience and we would definitely eat there again.

:goodvibes

I was just there Thursday and had an AWESOME time... I got the filet mignon and it was VERY tender and tasted wonderful. The veggies and udon noodles were also great and they give you 3 good sauces.. The cheif was very funny and gave a nice but quick show.. It was very busy but I did not feel rushed to leave at all.. Also the choco ginger cake was super good.. I can only say good things about it.. Go and see for yourself how nice it is..

It's a must do every trip. Good food & fun. Not like the ones at home.

I went to Teppan Edo for the 1st time about 3 years ago and quickly became a must do on every trip.

The food is very good. I have had the chicken as well as the filet and shrimp combo. Everything I have tried has been good. And the show the chefs but on it great!

We had a great time when we were there in May. The food was excellent (although I really missed fried rice :sad1:). It was my friend's birthday when we were there and they made him a chef hat and everything. Overall, it was a really great experience. Oh yeah, and if you're drinking alcohol, try the "Ninja". Very, very good!

I think Teppan Edo depends on if you have Japanese Steakhouses where you live. We are in NC and have WAYY better ones than Teppan Edo. If you have ever been to a Japanese Steakhouse, you have already been to Teppan Edo. And probably got more food for less money. Here most dinners come with soup and salad, there it's extra. The food was fine, service was fine, but nothing special for sure.

:thumbsup2We tried it for the first time this past June and we LOVED it. Everything was fantastic...the service, the food (DS even ate his veggies:eek:). I had the filet and it was melt in your mouth tender...dh had the shrimp and it was awesome. Both kids had the chicken but also ate a LOT of our steak and shrimp. The noodles were excellent as were all the veggies. DH had a sake sampler, which of course, he enjoyed. For dessert we had the green tea pudding which had a very nice flavor but weird texture. The chocolate ginger cake was excellent.
The kids loved eating with the kid friendly chopsticks. ;) Our chef was really fun and entertaining. We all had a wonderful time.
We cannot wait to go back in Dec!

Teppan Edo is a must do for our family every year also. I do agree that it is very similar to any Japanese steakhouse in your local city but even so the food has been great every time and we have never been disappointed with our meal or service. I would definitely recommend trying it. :thumbsup2

We're doing this next month, and I can't wait! I love benihana, and my mom has never been to a japanese steakhouse, so this should be a treat for her! I'm ready to go now!

We went there for the first time this past January because our DD wanted to try it so bad. DH and I weren't really looking forward to it because we are not big fans of Asian food. It turned out that we all loved it! The food was really good and we enjoyed how entertaining it was. We have our ADR's set for our trip next month!

We're going here next week, and cant wait to try it. I'm curious, will my DS11 be able to order off the kids menu? If not, we will share... as he would never be able to finish an adult sized meal.

We ate there for the first time last year, using the Candlelight Processional dinner package. We really enjoyed our meal. So much that I chose it for my birthday dinner on our upcoming trip in September. It wasn't actually my first choice - that was Le Cellier, but they had no availability.

We had fun watching the chef and the steak and shrimp combo I chose was excellent. I tried some of my daughter's chicken and that was very good as well.

All of these reports sound awesome!:thumbsup2 We have never eaten there either and have an ADR for our upcoming Sept. trip and can't wait.

Both DH and I are huge teppan-yaki fans. We appreciate seeing the food cooked right at our table, we enjoy seeing the show (at our local place, they start out with a huge fireball that you can feel from literally across the dining room! But then, I tend to really enjoy fireplay stuff like that! ), and the food is always out of this world.

It's the one place where Fish, my DH, will actually eat his veggies! :rotfl: I am a fan of fried rice but I am a bigger fan of udon noodles and so if there isn't fried rice at Epcot, oh well. At our local teppan-yaki, we get soup (a broth with mushrooms, very mild but really good), salad (with an orange-ginger dressing), fried rice, udon noodles, and veggies in addition to whatever meat you order (everything from salmon and lobster to steak, chicken and shrimp). For this, it's about $35 per person. The chef will do a show and interact with the people (like tossing an egg into a woman's, er . . . 'neckline' and flipping shrimp pieces into people's mouths). Oh, I forgot, we also get two sauces, one which is ginger and soy based and one which is creamy and I suspect fish based, though it's not really fishy. They call it yum-yum sauce :lmao: and it really is yummy!

We'll be using our dining plan credits at Teppan Edo but we may order stuff on the side if we really want it. Frankly, I could do without the salad! DH really likes his fried rice, I wonder if we can get it as a side. We'll see, I guess!

My husband & I went last year for our 1st time & LOVED it! We're taking the kids this year. I can't wait to go... It was my 1st time having sushi & I love love loved it. We felt the food, atmosphere & entertaining chef was awesome!

I think you could say this about any restaurant at Disney though, if you live near a big city like NY, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc. Each of these cities will have a better french restaurant, steakhouse, italian, burger place, seafood place, etc.

We'll be there in November with our three boys. The youngest will be 15 months old. What's the seating situation like there? Will we be alright with the baby? Anyone been there with a one-year old and care to share? Thanks!
