Teppan Edo Scallops?

I think the bolded portion is where the confusion is coming in. The split meal fee only compensates for the extra noodles and vegetables. The patrons who are splitting do not get a full entree portion of protein. If the entree portion for the Chicken & Shrimp Combo is 1 chicken breast and 6 shrimp, then each patron splitting would get 1/2 chicken breast and 3 shrimp. However, those patrons who are NOT splitting would each get a full chicken breast and 6 shrimp.

This is getting me kind of confused. For some reason everyone's got me thinking sharing is a better way to go!

I mean if I order the chicken and shrimp for myself do I get a chicken breast and 6 shrimp for myself, right? How come I would only get 4 scallops then? Seems to me the scallops are not worth getting, which is what I was trying to confirm in my original post. :confused3

4 scallops is actually an average to generous sized portion given the richness of the dish. Most signature restaurants will serve 3 scallops for their scallop entree.

The scallops are HUGE! 4 scallops is plenty for most people.

When the meal comes out if there are 5 people that ordered chicken and 2 that ordered steak... then there are 5 chicken breasts and 2 steaks. Yes they all get cut up into a pile, but the server does their best to make sure it is portioned equally. If you have a problem with getting 2 pieces less of cut up chicken then the person next to you... then go somewhere else. The chef is not counting out the pieces of chicken each person gets.... the same way they don't count out the number of french fries you get or the number of piece of chicken you might get in a pasta dish at another restaurant.

I think I'm gonna stick with the scallops and take my chances. I SO love them. Typically this place gets good reviews, so I'm surprised so many people on this thread seem disappointed. I'll let you know when I get back--we'll be there one week from tonite!!

Just returned from a great but very crowded trip!;)

Let me say the scallops were DELICIOUS. I HIGHLY recommend them. If I didn't know beforehand that I was only getting 4, I would not have noticed--they cut them up and mix them with veggies and it was plenty for me. Everyone in my party LOVED Teppan, in fact it was our favorite TS of the trip. Even my picky kids loved it, they thought it was so cool to eat with chopsticks. Our chef was very friendly, but not as animated and fun as the other tables guy, a little disappointing, but still a great time.:thumbsup2
