Hey DISers! This is our review of Teppan Edo in Epcot. We ate there for lunch on 6/7. We had the first lunch seating at noon. Here's a little bit about our cast:

Lindsay (19)- Lindsay is the birthday girl this week! She's a little picky about food but was really excited to try a Japanese steak house. She's loves filet so was excited to get it here!

Jessica (22)- Jessica never tried a Japanese steak house either so was really excited to try it! She loves seafood (mmm shrimp!).

Sherry a.k.a. Mom- She loves veggies and seafood. She's not picky about it. She's really excited to eat here too!

Like I said, we had the first seating for lunch. So when we got there, they were just opening up and the whole staff came out to welcome us to their restaurant. The workers were extremely friendly and wore beautiful kimonos! Also, we didn't realize that the two Japanese restaurants were in the same building (Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo). Tokyo Dining is a sushi place in the front of the restaurant and Teppan Edo is the steakhouse in the back part. We never ate at Tokyo Dining but it looked really pretty and modern. We love sushi so we might try it next time!

Anyways, we only waited about 10 minutes and then they took us back to the steakhouse part of the building to be seated. We were worried about being seated with children but we were actually seated with one young couples in their twenties and another family with one adult daugther. They were friendly and we were relieved.

After we sat down, we had two different female servers come out to greet us (very friendly again), take our drink orders, offer hot towels for our hands, and even offered to fix our chopsticks with a rubber band to make them easier to use. She then explained what we could have with the DDP and took our lunch order.

Sherry ordered saki which she liked okay (had to share it with Jessica). Jessica and Sherry both got hot green tea for their drink. Lindsay got the ice green tea which she really liked (she doesn't usually drink tea either).

In a few minutes, the chef came out. We had an older chef in his 50's (lots of the other chefs seemed to be in their 20's or 30's). He was very nice but didn't do many fancy tricks like we saw the other chefs doing. That was okay with us, though. He did do one trick with the onions- "onion volcano" - which was cute.

He first grilled up the noodles, onions, and zuchinni. It looked so good and it was soo good! He then grilled up the meat. Jessica and Sherry got the steak and shrimp while Lindsay got the filet. Lindsay loveddd the filet! They gave her a large portion of it and it was very tender. Jessica and Sherry both loved the shrimp. Jessica liked the steak (although obviously it wasn't as good as the filet). Sherry kept trying to steal Lindsay's filet! :rotfl2: She loves shrimp but said that next time she'll get the filet. She didn't like the steak so much.

For dessert, Sherry tried the ginger cake that she really liked. Lindsay thought it was okay but Jessica didn't like it because she doesn't like ginger very much. Jessica and Lindsay both got twist soft serve ice cream which was just enough. The best part was that the staff sang happy birthday to Lindsay and gave her a chef's hat to wear! It was so cute! :goodvibes

Overall, everyone LOVED Teppan Edo! It was a 10 out of 10 for everyone of us. The service was the best we had in Disney ever most likely (so friendly!) The food was really good and there was a lot of it. It did get a little noisy towards the end of our lunch, so we'd suggest having the first lunch or dinner seating if you can. This way, the restaurant is less busy for the first part of your meal. Jessica would have liked a few other dessert options, but like we said, after eating so much, a little ice cream was more than enough.

We cannot wait to go back again!!!

Looks great. We are eating there for the first time in July. What drinks can you order there on the dining plan?

You can get hot tea, ice tea, or coke products I believe.

Most likely you sit with other people (because there are 8 to a table). So unless you have 8 in your party, you'll be with other people! :goodvibes

We ate there last August, and plan a return trip this August too. We found the food to be flavorful, and the atmosphere typical of Japanese steakhouse restaurants. I recall a review done by the podcast team at one point, and while I respect the opinions of Kevin Klose, our meal experience was different than his. I do wish the dessert selection was greater, but not a huge loss. It was worth the table service dining credit we used!:thumbsup2

Oh, and you do sit with other diners, but thats okay. We sat with a family from Japan, and didn't realize until after we ate that they spoke english. Had a lovely conversation with them, and a very pleasant experience overall.

Thanks for the review! I am looking forward to getting some ADR for our trip in December. Would we be nuts to take a 3 year old? I am hoping they have some high flying antics to keep him entertained!

Thanks for the review! We are eating there in August and are looking forward to it.

Do you know if you can order sushi there as well?

Thanks for the pics and review, just booked it for lunch as my family loves this kind of food.....

DO you remember the prices off hand??

Weve had that guy many times over the years. He used to be really funny. Like "10W30" when he put down the oil, "Uncle Bens" when they brought out the rice, said he ate Swanson TV dinner when he got home at night etc. Then last time he kind of mumbled "I'll give you a volcano" and used very bit of onion, but that was about it.

OK I think I am switching from Rose and Crown to Teppan Edo. It looks so good in all the pictures.

We loved Teppan Edo when we went in May it was one of our favorite meals.
