Teppan Edo or Coral Reef

Both were a disappointment for us last trip, the show at Teppen Edo was lame, the food was fine. At Coral Reef, the service and noise level were terrible but the food was fine.

We love the food and Teppan Edo! I think it is consistently good while Coral Reef is hit and miss. I hear the "show" at Teppan Edo is lacking compared to some local places, but we think it's great.

The show at Teppan Edo isn't "quite" as good as other places I've been (no fire and a little less interactive) but that being said it has some of my favorite food in WDW...I'd definitely pick it over Coral Reef

We like Teppan Edo much better. Coral Reef was okay, good food and a nice view, but nothing jumped out at us that would make it a must-do. Teppan Edo is a family favorite, and even though we seldom repeat restaurants (I'm on a quest to try every Disney TS!), DS's enjoyment of the place has earned it a position on our very short list of must-dos.

I loved Teppan Edo. We barely get any kind of show at the local hibachi places. The food was good too.

I've never eaten at Coral Reef though so I can't compare the two.

Opinions on restaurants and food are so subjective. We really like Teppan Edo - love the scallops and filet, really like the interaction and meeting other families. We tried Coral Reef twice (in '07 and '08) and all agreed that it wasn't worth wasting a TS on a meal we couldn't eat. Still the atmosphere is really great - especially if you sit right by the tank.

Teppan Edo - Good food and "the show" all depends on your chef. I had a chef that was interactive and talked - joked around a lot. We had a lot of laughs. The next table over, the chef had his head down, silent just cooking the food. But the chef being interactive and social is all part of the hibachi experience so I would hope having a dud of a chef is a rare experience.

Coral Reef - Coral Reef is a good retaurant to try once, depending on how much you like aquariums will effect how much you like this restaurant and if you will return. It probably wont be the food that brings you back. Definitly a cool experience if you can get a seat close to the aquarium. Food was very disappointing when I went.
